When the IRS is at its busiest, helping workers and families file their taxes in MA and across the nation, Trump decides to drag the IRS into court in an attempt to pocket even more money from the American people. This is his latest scheme—that Republicans are enabling—to rob America blind.
This pick is just the latest attempt at blatant politicization of the Fed that threatens the rule of law, weakens the dollar, and undermines the integrity of the country further. President Trump—and the Republicans enabling him—are attacking the very foundation of responsible policymaking. 2/2
It’s no surprise that Trump has picked loyalist Kevin Warsh as the next Fed Chair. Over the years, Warsh has only proven how far he will bend to appease the President. 1/
As millions of Americans are feeling the impact of SNAP cuts in Trump’s One Big, Ugly Law, I’m joining my friend and colleague @repmcgovern.bsky.social at Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen and Pantry to hear from those being hurt by these cruel and unnecessary cuts. Tune in at 12:15 today ⤵️
Join me live at 12:15p today with @neal.house.gov at Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen & Pantry in Chicopee, the third stop of my statewide #EndHungerNow Tour.
History shows us the dangers of allowing prejudice and exclusion to shape our communities. Building a future grounded in inclusion, understanding, and mutual respect is essential if we are to create a society strong enough to reject antisemitism and hatred in all of its forms.
1/ International Holocaust Remembrance Day stands as a stark reminder of the horrors inflicted upon six million Jews and millions of others during the Holocaust. Today, as communities across the globe continue to confront antisemitism, we are reminded of the urgent responsibility to speak out.
1/ Another American citizen has been killed by Trump’s ICE agents. These untrained, unaccountable officers are wreaking havoc on our communities. Their tactics, and these killings, go against everything our nation stands for.
Last night, I voted against the DHS funding bill. Republicans refuse to demand accountability & reform within ICE, which should be held to the same standards as local & state law enforcement. This isn’t about immigration. It’s about the rule of law & basic civil liberties that define our democracy
Congratulations to Jonah on winning MA-01's @CongressionalAC! His innovative app, "Health Advocate," helps users prepare for medical appointments and deliver better patient outcomes. I look forward to welcoming Jonah to D.C. later this year. www.berkshireeagle.com/news/souther...
2/ As we reflect on his work, we’re reminded that the fight for civil rights is ongoing. Today, let us all recommit to the principles of equality, dignity, and justice that Dr. King championed, as we work to build a more perfect union.
1/ On this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. King, whose vision continues to guide our nation. His moral courage, his belief in the power of community, and his unwavering commitment to justice have long inspired my own journey in Congress.
President Trump continues his illegal tariff policies that do nothing but raise your prices. This time, he’s targeting our longtime allies for failing to hand over Greenland. His feckless leadership is hurting working families and undermining our standing on the world stage.
BREAKING: Trump says eight European countries will be charged a 10% tariff for opposing U.S. control of Greenland.
2/ As millions of Americans are losing their health care, these reckless cuts would have further weakened our nation's health care system, putting lives at risk. This should have never happened in the first place.
1/ Yesterday, I heard from organizations across MA-01 that provide critical mental health and addiction treatment, all scrambling after the Trump administration abruptly cut funding. Hours later, the administration quietly reversed this decision after public backlash.
Breaking News: A day after the Trump administration said it was cutting $2 billion in mental health funding, it reversed itself and reinstated the money.
2/ That's why I joined my Democratic colleagues in writing to Secretary Noem and Acting Director Lyons, calling for a thorough and independent investigation.
