I will not be attending Trump's State of the Union address today. Here's why ⬇️

Trump violated the Constitution and made life more expensive for families across the nation in the process. It’s time for Trump to drop his disastrous economic policies and actually address the affordability crisis he's fueled. 2/2
This is exactly what we've been saying from the beginning - Trump's tariffs were absolutely illegal. Authority to impose tariffs rests solely with Congress, not the President. 1/2
My statement on the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce ⬇️
Happy Lunar New Year! Wishing everyone health and happiness in the Year of the Horse.
Ramadan Mubarak to all those observing in California's 52nd Congressional District and across the country. May this holy month bring you and your loved ones peace, hope, and renewal.
Disgusting bigotry. This kind of hate has no place in Congress, or anywhere else. Shame on Randy Fine, and shame on my Republican colleagues who have continued to stay silent on this.
Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson–a giant of the Civil Rights Movement who dedicated his life to fighting for justice and equality for all. His legacy will live on for generations to come. I'm praying for his loved ones, including my colleague @jonathanjackson.house.gov.
Bloqueen los fondos al DHS. Destituyan a Kristi Noem.
Today, we held a hearing on ICE's abuses where families and communities share story after story of their experiences being targeted and terrorized by this lawless agency. Block DHS funding. Impeach Kristi Noem. Get ICE out of our cities now. This violence cannot continue.
Trump's tariffs cost the average household $1,000 last year and could rise to $1,300 this year if they remain in place
We're forcing this vote. Republicans need to join us to end these senseless tariffs and lower costs for families.
We are not “moving on” from the Epstein Files. Our country deserves the truth and Epstein's victims deserve justice and accountability.
Reposted byCongressman Juan Vargas
This Super Bowl Sunday, Epstein’s survivors want you watch this. It’s the most important ad of the day. You don’t “move on” from the largest sex trafficking ring in the world. You expose it.
I won't stop fighting for answers and for my right as a lawmaker to investigate reports of inhumane treatment in detention centers. And I'll keep fighting to stop ICE from terrorizing our communities. Enough is enough.
I was blocked from entering Otay Mesa Detention Center today to conduct oversight after receiving concerning allegations about conditions there. We've heard reports that detainees are throwing notes over the fences asking for help.
What are they trying to hide here? What are they doing?

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
