I may not have the need for speed… 🏎️🏁
…but I definitely have the need to protect Rhode Island social services from Republican cuts.
We need to bring their proposals to decimate SNAP and Medicaid to a screeching halt 🛑

Alongside my delegation colleagues, I joined Meeting Street and Children’s Friend to discuss the importance of investing in maternal, infant, and early childhood health and bringing down the cost of living for Rhode Islanders.
Why?
Because when families thrive, we all thrive.
Thank you to the Newport County LWV and every RIer who showed up to engage with their federal elected officials tonight.
As we work to hold Trump accountable in Congress, in court, and in the realm of public opinion, we must stay hopeful - we are not powerless, rather we are powerful together.
Today, we recognized @rhodeislandcollege.bsky.social and its new designation as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense.
As we work to combat cyberattacks, I’m excited for the work RIC is leading to make RI the premier training ground for the cybersecurity experts of tomorrow.
The latest revelations make clear why Pete Hegseth should have never been confirmed.
The ongoing scandals at the Pentagon leave America less safe and risk the lives of our service members. The Secretary of Defense must have experience, judgment, & competence — Mr. Hegseth does not.
He must resign.
As the first Holy Father from the Americas, Pope Francis was a guiding light on how to care for the most vulnerable with humility and grace.
As the world mourns his passing, I join those who take comfort that his moral clarity will stand the test of time.
Senate President Dominick Ruggerio’s passing is a significant loss for Rhode Island — a place he loved deeply and fought for until the very end.
I will keep his children, grandchildren, loved ones, colleagues, and staff in my prayers.
Through so many, his legacy will live on.
Wishing Rhode Islanders a joyful Easter Sunday! 🌸🌺🌼
Grateful to share a beautiful day before Easter at wonderful events with Mayor Rivera & friends in Central Falls and Councilwoman Coderre, Mayor Grebien, & so many more in Pawtucket! 🐰🐣
In Congress, I’m working across the aisle to preserve our America’s leadership abroad through our production of lifesaving humanitarian aid.
We’re saving starving children, supporting American farmers, and projecting our nation’s values.
This is leadership from which we cannot retreat.
In Congress, I have been proud to stand up for democracy and the international rule of law by voting for sanctions and delivering humanitarian and military aid to oppose Vladimir Putin's illegal invasion.
Thank you to the American Coalition for Ukraine for your continued advocacy of American support for Ukraine's war effort.
Easter came early in Providence yesterday!🐰
Thank you to Carol & the Community Angels for organizing this year’s Easter Extravaganza to give local kids baskets and the joy of the season.
Trump broke the law by deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
He’s defying a 9-0 Supreme Court order by refusing to bring him back.
And he’s paying a foreign government to lock up migrants in a torture prison without due process.
@vanhollen.senate.gov is right — either put up in court or shut up.
7/ By sharing stories of how Medicaid supports Americans, our public pressure is working.
Republicans are calling on their own leaders to spare their communities from harmful cuts.
We can’t let up — for everyone who relies on it, we have to save Medicaid.

6/ In Newport, I met with staff at East Bay Community Action Program’s Dental Center to discuss how cuts to Medicaid would lead to cuts to clinic hours, staffing, and their ability to support our local communities.

5/ At Women and Infants Hospital, our delegation united against GOP efforts to strip Medicaid for new & expecting mothers.
With so many RIers relying on Medicaid for pregnancy, childbirth, & family planning, these cuts would devastate maternal health outcomes in our state.

4/ Alongside the RI delegation, I’ve convened medical professionals &advocacy groups to underscore how Medicaid helps those struggling with behavioral & mental health care.
Investing in Medicaid means investing in treatment options and supporting providers who serve them.

3/ Last week, I spoke on House Floor to tell the story of Al — a 74-year-old resident of an East Providence assisted living facility who is petrified that cuts to Medicaid could force him on the street.

2/ In a 12+ hour @housebudgetdems.bsky.social hearing, I called out the Republican attempts to gut Medicaid to shovel tax breaks to the richest 1%.
