Gun violence in America is completely out of control. What will it take for our leaders to come together and enact policies that will address this crisis, save lives, and keep our communities safe? As we pray for the victims, let us also ACT. The time is now.
JUST IN: Three people are in critical condition after a shooting at Evergreen High School in Evergreen, Colorado, according to St. Anthony’s Hospital. https://cnn.it/46fImzg
I unequivocally condemn the despicable and cowardly attack on Charlie Kirk. Political violence has absolutely no place in the United States, and the perpetrator must be prosecuted to the fullest extent. Let us all pray for Mr. Kirk and his loved ones in this moment.
Charlie Kirk, a right-wing influencer who is a close ally of President Trump, was shot in the neck on Wednesday while speaking at a campus event at Utah Valley University. Follow updates here. nyti.ms/4gokLkW
After the president rolled out the red carpet, Putin repays him by bombing Ukrainian civilians & sending drones into NATO airspace. This is a dangerous escalation that must be met with a forceful response from the U.S., including increased sanctions. If the president refuses to act, Congress must.
More than a dozen Russian drones entered Poland overnight, prompting NATO to scramble fighter jets to shoot them down in what Western officials described on Wednesday as a dangerous escalation of the war in neighboring Ukraine.
It is deeply disappointing the Missouri House has put the demands of DC power brokers ahead of the wishes of Missouri families in another partisan power grab This battle is far from over—and I won't stop fighting to ensure the voices of Western Missouri are heard www.kansascity.com/news/politic...
In a moment where the president and ICE are sowing fear in communities across the country, the Supreme Court continues to undermine the civil liberties of American citizens by greenlighting the racial profiling of minorities. It’s dangerous and un-American.
Breaking News: The Supreme Court lifted restrictions on ICE agents in Los Angeles, allowing them to make indiscriminate stops based on factors like ethnicity.
For 60 years, HUD has worked to ensure every American has safe, stable, and affordable housing. As the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Housing, I’m fighting to ensure HUD is fully funded and can continue its mission of expanding the American Dream for ALL our neighbors.
“Trump vowed to halve electricity prices. But they’re rising twice as fast as inflation.” Cutting investments in renewable energy like wind and solar is decreasing our national supply of energy and raising monthly utility bills for American families. www.cnn.com/2025/09/04/b...
After the administration froze funding to National Heritage Areas nationwide, Rep. Davids & I pushed to restore these investments enacted by Congress, which help to preserve regional history & boost local economies Happy Freedom's Frontier NHA has secured their funding. www.kcur.org/arts-life/20...
MO-05 is the heart of Kansas City, our people, our culture, our economic engine. Trump and Missouri Republicans want to carve it up to cling to power, but they will not silence the voices of Kansas Citians without a fight. www.msnbc.com/top-stories/...
After joining @davids.house.gov to push to restore federal funding obligated to Freedom's Frontier, I am pleased that they have finally secured the funding & will now be able to continue their mission, telling our story to visitors while boosting economic activity. bit.ly/4nmHboV
I’m grateful to the @pkdfoundation.bsky.social for honoring me with the 2024 Congressional Champion of the Year Award for my work to bring attention to this disease while fighting for additional investments in new treatments.
Such blatant politicization of justice is unacceptable. The American people deserve the full truth, not a version tailored for partisan politics.
The Justice Department's acting deputy chief was caught on a hidden camera saying that the government will "redact every Republican" from an Epstein client list and "leave all the liberal, Democratic people."
BRUTAL JOBS REPORT: Just 22,000 jobs added in August. Unemployment rises to 4.3%. Broader jobless rate jumps to 8.1%. Slowest 4-month growth since 2020. Plus, downward revisions for June and July of -21,000. Yikes.
This morning, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released one of the worst jobs reports since the pandemic. It shows America lost jobs in June, hiring slowed to its worst level since 2021, and unemployment is rising. Surely this isn’t the “Golden Age” that Trump talks about.
Breaking news: The U.S. labor market contracted in June for the first time since the pandemic, as new data showed that the employers sharply pulled back hiring amid economic headwinds created by Trump administration policies.
The Big Ugly Bill was the largest redistribution of wealth from the working class to the wealthiest 1% in history, ripping healthcare away from families while giving handouts to millionaires. Good luck “rebranding” that.
NEW analysis on the GOP megabill's core policy choice: each millionaire's tax cut is paid for by taking away health insurance from 4 people while reducing health care benefits from many others.
