Yesterday in Carpinteria, I witnessed ICE agents using unnecessarily aggressive and militarized tactics against local farm workers and peaceful protesters. It was appalling. This is not how we keep our communities safe.
I went to Casitas Pass Road in Carpinteria today after learning ICE was conducting a militarized raid targeting farm workers. As a Member of Congress, I have the right to conduct oversight, but I was denied entry. Here’s what happened. ⬇️
Just a few months ago, Pete Hegseth was a TV show host on Fox News. Now he’s pausing U.S. military aid operations without informing the White House. This is what happens when you let unqualified people run the Pentagon. It’s reckless and dangerous.
Stopped by San Luis Obispo to tour the new SLO Food Bank pantry and hear firsthand how the GOP's proposed SNAP cuts could impact their critical work. I’ll keep fighting to protect the programs that help feed families in need.
Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans just passed their “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which is nothing short of a betrayal. It guts health care, slashes food assistance, and adds trillions to the national debt. Read my full statement. ⬇️
I’m back in Washington and ready to vote NO on Donald Trump’s and Republicans’ cruel, disastrous, and reckless 'One Big Beautiful Bill'—or, as I like to call it, their Big Betrayal Bill! Here’s some facts about it. ⬇️
House Republicans are only allowing an hour of debate on a massive bill so devastating that it will rip health care and food assistance away from MILLIONS of Americans. @housedemocrats.bsky.social are using every tool available to fight against this Big Ugly bill. ⤵️
Senate Republicans just voted for Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill”—but here’s the truth: ❌ Largest cut to Medicaid in years ❌ Rips food away from kids, veterans, & seniors ❌ Adds $4 TRILLION to our national debt This bill is cruel, reckless, and wrong. We won’t stop fighting back.
