May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to check in on yourself and those you love. Everyone deserves access to the care they need—that’s why @housedemocrats.bsky.social and I are fighting every day to strengthen health care, promote mental health parity, and improve access to care.
The math doesn’t lie—House Republicans do. You can’t cut $880 billion from Energy & Commerce’s jurisdiction without slashing Medicaid, which provides care for millions of kids, seniors, and people with disabilities.
This #TeacherAppreciationWeek, I'm proud to honor the 55,000+ educators across Colorado who dedicate their lives to shaping the next generation of leaders. Your passion, resilience, and commitment to our students inspire us all—thank you for everything you do.
Great to attend the grand opening of Warren Village at Alameda—a new campus to support families overcoming homelessness & housing instability. I was proud to help secure $4 million in federal funding for this project because I believe deeply in their mission to help Denverites succeed.
In CO, CPR’s tireless journalism keeps our communities informed. But Trump is gutting its parent company, NPR, because he doesn't like their coverage. If he takes issue with their reporting, the problem isn’t NPR—it’s him. I fought this on the Oversight Subcommittee last year and I’ll do it again.
Happy Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! This month, we celebrate the AANHPI community and their important impact in Denver as well as our nation's history and culture.
Trump’s White House budget proposes slashing nearly $20 billion from the NIH—a 40% cut to lifesaving biomedical research. That means fewer breakthroughs to cure cancer, Alzheimer’s, & diabetes, all to fund his petty, reckless agenda. As top Dem on the Health Subcommittee, I won’t stand for it.
Trump just released his budget, and he wants to cut $18 billion from NIH, $3.5 billion from CDC, and $2.5 billion from EPA’s clean drinking water program. This proposed budget is terrible for the American people, and I will fight it every step of the way.
76K Denverites could lose Medicaid coverage due to the GOP adding bureaucratic red tape. Spoiler alert: kicking Americans off their coverage & making them sicker won't boost employment. For their constituents and ours, the GOP should be working with Democrats to protect and expand health coverage.
It's been 100 days of chaos from Donald Trump & his Admin – from gutting biomedical research, to carrying out illegal deportations, to tanking our economy. But that’s not the whole story. Democrats, the courts, and the American people are standing up, speaking out, and fighting back every day.
Donald Trump promised to secure our border and make our country safer. Instead, he has launched an illegal and unconstitutional campaign of fear that targets families, violates due process, and undermines our Constitution. My full statement. ⬇️
The House GOP is letting Elon and his teenage army run free with sensitive health information while they try to gut Medicaid. I'm fighting to hold them accountable for this gross abdication of responsibility.
Every Republican on the Energy & Commerce Committee just voted AGAINST my amendment that would have removed Elon Musk and his DOGE cronies' access to seniors' medical records.
Great to celebrate the 2025 Congressional Art Competition! 🎨 This year, we received 90 submissions from 72 students across 11 schools in Denver, showcasing the talent & creativity of young artists in our community. Thanks to all who participated, Art Street, & the Denver Art Society for hosting!
Rather than increasing efficiency, RFK Jr. and his lackeys are just layering on bureaucratic red tape and inserting politics into science. He’s making it harder for lifesaving research into diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s to continue.
