Diplomacy is the only long-term solution for stopping the spread of nuclear weapons. I sat down with @reporterjoe.bsky.social with @notus.com to discuss what a new deal on Iran's nuclear program could look like. Check out the full story here:
Rep. Bill Foster, an Illinois Democrat and the only physicist in Congress, is offering the Trump administration a blueprint to land a nuclear deal where Washington and Tehran could both save face.

This assault on science and the integrity of independent institutions risks our global leadership and national security. Scientific fact, not politics or personal gain, should guide American science.
The National Science Board is the apolitical governing body of the National Science Foundation, and advises the president and Congress on scientific issues.
Without any explanation, Trump fired the entire board.
I recently joined the Nukes of Hazard podcast to discuss unanswered questions about Iran's nuclear program and how we should move forward in negotiations.

The DOJ ending this sham "investigation" because it delayed Kevin Warsh's confirmation proves it was never serious in the first place. It was just another attack on the Fed's independence because Jerome Powell refused to cater to Trump's political whims.

I've introduced a resolution to recognize the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as an essential partner in our efforts to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons.
If Trump does succeed at reaching a new nuclear agreement with Iran, the IAEA will be essential for monitoring that agreement.
I'm deeply saddened by the passing of my colleague, Rep. David Scott. I was proud to serve alongside him on the Financial Services Committee—he was a thoughtful, dedicated leader in Congress. He will be missed.
I'm keeping his family and staff in my thoughts.
UPDATE: The CDC will not publish the report.
Suppressing reports and hiding the data doesn’t change the facts: the COVID vaccine is safe and effective.
RFK Jr.’s baseless, conspiracy-driven agenda will make Americans sicker.

Happy Earth Day! This year, I’m highlighting Fermilab’s bison herd, which celebrates Illinois’ famous prairies.
Earlier this week, the first bison calf of the year was born—read more about it here: www.dailyherald.com/20260421/pet...
Republicans' Big Beautiful Bill may cut food assistance for an estimated 150,000 Illinois families beginning May 1.
Trump and Republicans made an active choice to cut SNAP, and now children will go hungry.

We need technical experts negotiating with Iran, not real estate dealers.
The House had the opportunity to rein in Trump's war in Iran, but Republicans have once again failed to join us in passing a War Powers Resolution.
Congress cannot abdicate its power as a co-equal branch of government and let this rogue President continue to unilaterally wage war.

This Tax Day, I've introduced the Autofill Act. It's long past time to make the tax filing process more efficient and less expensive for the American people.
Americans are keeping track of Trump's broken promises—and they're not happy.
It's Tax Day! Reminder that Republicans' so-called "Big Beautiful Bill" gave millionaires a tax cut 390 TIMES the size of what they gave to workers and families making less than $50,000.
Negotiations with Iran require technical experts—not real estate moguls and venture capitalists. JD Vance tried to broker a deal in a weekend, while the Iran Nuclear Deal took 20 months. This administration has gotten us into another endless war—and our servicemembers are less safe because of it.
