This vote alone is a dangerous endorsement of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s health misinformation and lies. How many lives are Republicans willing to risk for this nominee? The Senate must not confirm RFK Jr. www.nbcnews.com/politics/con...
This unlawful and horrifying attack on international aid programs means the world will become less safe, less healthy, and less united in the face of the climate crisis. I’m continuing to object to any efforts to move nominees—especially from State—while this effort continues.
Screenshot of an Axios article by Andrew Freedman entitled “Ending USAID climate programs could increase security risks.” Article includes a photo of the American and USAID flags flying in a gray sky. Text reads, “The axing of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which Elon Musk has vowed to "kill" with President Trump's support, could destabilize regions where human-caused climate change is hitting particularly hard. Why it matters: By ending humanitarian assistance and proactive climate resilience and adaptation programs, the U.S. military could get pulled into responding to more future crises.”
I commend the DHS Inspector General for heeding my and Senator Jeff Merkley's call to investigate TSA’s facial recognition program. I have long called on TSA to halt its use of a facial recognition and look forward to this investigation bringing much-needed transparency and information.
Screenshot of a tweet by Edward Graham that reads, “The @DHSOIG is investigating @TSA's use of facial recognition, according to a letter shared by @SenJeffMerkley. Review comes after Merkley & 11 other R/D senators asked watchdog to look at use of the tech "from both an authorities and privacy perspective" nextgov.com/modernization/…” Tweet includes screenshot of an article.
Censoring research, hiding information on vaccines and birth control, removing vital information on HIV. Trump is risking lives in pursuit of an ill-conceived, Elon Musk-driven agenda. Just 2 weeks into this administration and Americans are less safe. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/03/h...
Unelected, unqualified staff, at the behest of Elon Musk, are rooting around in Small Business Administration data that they have no business handling. As the ranking member of the Small Business Committee, I am asking for answers.
Senator Markey post saying: Unelected, unqualified staff, at the behest of Elon Musk, are rooting around in Small Business Administration data that they have no business handling. As the ranking member of the Small Business Committee, I am asking for answers.

Quoting: NEW: DOGE has requested and is being granted “access to all SBA systems,” per an email sent to
@SBAgov employees today. Edward Coristine, a DOGE official, held a call with SBA staff detailing level of access they wanted, including HR, contract and payment systems
Elon Musk and his team of government arsonists are threatening everything from payments to our troops to Medicare & Social Security benefits. I hope my colleagues come together and support my commonsense amendment to limit Musk’s access and safeguard our financial infrastructure.
Screenshot of Lisa Kashinsky tweeting - New: @SenMarkey filed an amendment to the TICKER Act that would make granting unauthorized access to the Treasury's payment system a FTC Act violation -- with language directly targeting Elon Musk's DOGE team.
We are aware that phones are experiencing technical issues across the U.S. Senate system. Please bear with us as we work to quickly address the issue and get our phones back online.
Trump is letting the richest man in the world wreak havoc on our government. It's unconstitutional and it's dangerous. Democrats must fight back. And that starts by voting no on his nominees. I urge my colleagues to join me. We cannot confirm any more of Trump's chaos cabinet.

If Congress and the judiciary permit the abolition of USAID to stand, nothing will prevent Trump or Elon Musk from doing the same thing to the CDC, EPA, FBI, or any other federal agency or department.
Elon Musk, aided & abetted by his puppet president, is trying to shut down and silence the EPA. He doesn’t want anyone working to get lead out of water pipes, clean up toxic pollution, or fight climate change. That's why I rejected Trump's nominees—this cannot stand. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/03/c...
Exercising congressional powers over news organizations for their editorial decision-making is a clear violation of their free speech rights. It's censorship dressed up as oversight.

NPR & PBS CALLED TO TESTIFY

DOGE Subcommittee Chair Majorie Taylor Greene (
@RepMTG
) is calling on the Chief Executive Officers of NPR and PBS to testify at a hearing concerning the systemically biased news coverage produced on behalf of federally funded radio and TV stations.

NPR and PBS have repeatedly undermined public trust by ignoring stories that were damaging to the Biden Administration, dismissing genuine calls for balanced reporting, and pushing partisan coverage.

As stewards of tax dollars, NPR and PBS must provide objective and accurate coverage that serves all Americans.
Donald Trump is saying the quiet part out loud. The only ones who will feel any pain due to his tariffs are Americans trying to heat their homes and feed their families. He's using American workers as pawns in his political game and we won't stand for it. www.bostonglobe.com/2025/02/02/b...
Republicans are blocking IRS funding that would force wealthy tax evaders to pay their fair share. Now, Donald Trump has handed over the keys to the Treasury to his buddy Elon—a government of the billionaires, by the billionaires, for the billionaires.
Instead of being helpful for workers, Trump’s tariffs are disorganized and will do nothing for economic growth. Millions of New England households are going to pay more at the grocery store and to stay warm in the middle of winter.
