Republicans are pushing legislation to allow religious organizations to break the law. Still, it’s disheartening that they voted down my amendment that would allow the IRS to strip tax-exempt status from those organizations if they promote the beliefs or practice of child marriage.
A man was killed in the streets by the police in Madison. His last breaths were captured on video. I’m heartbroken for his family and loved ones who are now grieving. We need transparency and accountability, and that starts with a thorough investigation.
Trump promised a deal and a quick end to his Iran war, but it only continues to spiral and cost American lives. Instead of supporting a War Powers Resolution, Republicans want to give the Trump admin billions more. Republicans are enabling Trump’s reckless war of choice.
Donald Trump and Republicans cut SNAP benefits for millions of Americans so they could lavish more tax giveaways to the wealthiest among us. It is unconscionable that people are going hungry while Trump, his family, associates and billionaire donors line their pockets.
Always great to meet with local union leaders! I listened to their current concerns and shared my commitment to backing policies that support workers’ rights to organize and collectively bargain for fair pay, benefits, and decent working conditions.
Trump and Republicans are failing the American people and they know it: ❌High Cost of Living ❌War in the Middle East ❌Job disappearing ❌Farms going bankrupt Republicans cry “election integrity,” so they can rig the midterms.
“President Donald Trump fired all three remaining members of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission on Thursday, abruptly disabling the only federal agency devoted solely to election administration at a moment when Trump has sought to reshape federal voting rules.”
ICE continues to terrorize our communities in Wisconsin. I’m proud to stand with Milwaukee Mayor Johnson, Senator Carpenter, Milwaukee Common Council President Jose Perez, and Voces de la Frontera Executive Director Christine Neumann-Ortiz to raise awareness and remind people of their rights.
Man who can’t be bothered doing his current job is seeking a promotion. On the other hand, I was proud to show up and vote for the bipartisan housing bill, which included my legislation to help small and community banks increase loans in underserved communities. spectrumnews1.com/wi/milwaukee...
Republicans slashed funding for BadgerCare and SNAP to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. Wisconsinites deserve to know which politicians are behind these devastating decisions, which is why we held this town hall in Rep. Brian Steil’s district.
Proud to join @benwikler.bsky.social, @pocan.house.gov, @repmcgovern.bsky.social, @jayapal.house.gov, @ramirez.house.gov, and Wisconsin local organizers in my birthplace, Racine, last night for a town hall highlighting how Republican policies have made life harder & more expensive for Wisconsinites.
We discussed the increased costs to keep employees on health insurance, rising utility costs for businesses, and how child care is increasingly unaffordable. As your Congresswoman, it is a privilege to fight for policies that uplift families and our local economy.
I stand with Mayor Johnson. 2020 election SORE loser Donald Trump and “I’m a never Trump guy” JD Vance continue to peddle lies about election integrity in Milwaukee to set the GROUNDWORK to MEDDLE in WI elections. www.tmj4.com/news/local-n...
