Today I was joined by @chu.house.gov & amazing advocates to reintroduce the Worker Relief and Credit Reform Act, which would modernize and expand the EITC. It's time for a tax code that works for WORKERS, not more tax giveaways to the wealthiest few. #EITC50 #WRCRact
Today is #EqualPayDay—a reminder that women still earn less than men for the same work. Equal work deserves equal pay. Now is the time to push forward, not to rollback decades of progress by stripping protections for women in the workplace.
🚨"A flood of cuts led by Elon Musk has sent the agency into chaos."   The GOP plan: sacrifice the social safety net to make room for tax cuts for Elon and Wall Street.   Fail to be born rich or get rich? Have the audacity to get old? You're on your own. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
Billionaire Howard Lutnick and the GOP say missing a Social Security check is no big deal. Tell that to the millions of Americans who need it.   This isn’t just callous commentary—it’s insight in to the GOP: they don’t care about you so why not starve Social Security.
Trump and Musk’s cuts are already slowing service, causing confusion, and harming our seniors. Social security beneficiaries, the majority of whom are women, deserve their hard-earned benefits.
Donald Trump and Elon Musk don't think senior citizens and disabled Americans deserve to get a real person on the phone to assist with their Social Security benefits.
Donald Trump and Elon Musk don't think senior citizens and disabled Americans deserve to get a real person on the phone to assist with their Social Security benefits.
NEW: The Social Security Administration is rushing cuts to phone services at the White House's request, the agency's acting commissioner told Social Security advocates in a meeting on Monday, two sources who attended tell Axios.
Today marks 15 years since Affordable Care Act was signed into law! As we celebrate the ACA, it seems like a great day to share my first post on here looking back at some moments in its history to tell the story of how it happened.
Milwaukee labor leader Dan Bukiewicz: ‘Scary times for the American worker.’ This Administration is now pausing work on the Microsoft data center supported by the Biden administration being built on the failed Foxconn site. Trump is punishing Wisconsin workers for his failures.
⬆️Layoffs ⬆️Inflation   ⬇️GDP forecast ⬇️Stock market   Trump's own Treasury Secretary says he 'can't guarantee' there won't be a recession under Trump. I guess when Trump said he would turn things around on day one, he meant he would put the economy in reverse.
An unelected foreign billionaire got a briefing at our nations military headquarters about U.S.-China strategy  -- a country which his companies are entangled with to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.   The GOP is outsourcing national security to an erratic oligarch.
Breaking News: The Pentagon is set to brief Elon Musk on the U.S. military’s closely guarded plan for any potential war with China, officials said.
From supporting academic programs for veterans to funding adult literacy programs, students from all backgrounds benefit from the Department of Education. That’s why I will keep challenging these ongoing attacks on education every chance I get.
Imagine being a retiree on a fixed income, and having your Social Security check delayed.   But now there is nobody to answer the phone and the closest assistance office to you has been closed.   Elon Musk can miss a check. Can your grandparents?
