Air traffic controllers & safety professionals protect our planes, passengers, pilots, & flight attendants every day. We've experienced firsthand the devastating impact that cuts to their workforce can have. We met to underscore the importance of staffing our airports. Safe skies depend on them.
ConEd's proposed double rate hike is unacceptable & I'm calling on the New York State Department of Public Service to reject it. Electricity bills are already too high. Families in Queens shouldn't have to pay more to keep the lights on.
It's not every day that you get to talk about space with Bill Nye the Science Guy! 🚀 I'm glad I had the opportunity to sit down & talk about how we can support NASA & the future of space exploration.
It's hard to believe that in 2025, women are still earning less than men for the same work. Women & families deserve better. On Equal Pay Day, my @demwomencaucus.bsky.social colleagues & I are united in our fight to close the pay gap.
Officers at the @nypd.bsky.social 109th Precinct are hard at work every day keeping Queens safe. I was proud to honor their dedicated service to our community during their annual Medal Day at Flushing High School.
Our food pantries are still suffering from the administration’s funding freeze. I've written to Secretary Kristi Noem urging her to immediately unfreeze this money. This freeze is forcing pantries in Queens to reduce hours and provide less food. We can’t allow families in our borough to go hungry.
Social Security is a lifeline for thousands of seniors and people with disabilities in New York. Eliminating phone support is not a cost-saving measure. It will only make it more difficult for people who need help to access the benefits they earned. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
Therapy dogs give patients and families comfort as they deal with the fear and stress of battling diseases like cancer. Yesterday, I met Aiden, who is always on call at the Queens Hospital Cancer Center. ❤️‍🩹
In 2025, communities across the nation have already experienced wildfires, deadly tornados, & severe storms. Closing @noaa.gov 's Storm Prediction Center will only put families at a greater risk as tornado season arrives in the south & Midwest & hurricane season begins on the east coast this year.
On #Medicaid Day of Action, @repgregorymeeks.bsky.social Meeks & I visited Queens Hospital, which cares for hundreds of patients that on rely on Medicaid coverage. Under the proposed budget, nearly 280k people in my district are at risk of losing coverage. Protecting Medicaid is non-negotiable.
REMINDER: VA Intake Day in Forest Hills I'm hosting a VA Intake Day TOMORROW, 10am-2pm, at Forest Hills American Legion Post #1424! Representatives from the VA will be available to assist veterans & families with claims & answer questions. Details👇
Mobile Office Hours: Queens Public Library -- Maspeth TOMORROW, 11am-2pm, my constituent services team is hosting mobile office hours at Queens Public Library in Maspeth! Stop by to ask questions & receive help with federal agencies like the VA, Social Security, IRS, & more. Details👇
🚨 In #Sudan, 7,000+ children & 900 pregnant women lost access to life-saving nutritional care due to halted U.S. aid. Treatment sites are closed, leaving families with nowhere to turn. This is a death sentence for the most vulnerable. We must act now.
