Trump & Republicans' destabilizing cuts to lifelines like Social Security, Medicare, & housing programs are leaving our elders worried.
I joined Central Boston Elder Services in Roxbury for a town hall to hear from our elders & discuss my work in Congress to protect these essential programs.

In Massachusetts, we're not sitting idly by while ICE terrorizes our communities.
I'm grateful for all of our advocates & state leaders who fought to get the PROTECT Act over the finish line.
And I'll keep fighting in Congress to abolish ICE & stand up for our neighbors.
Todd Blanche has covered up the Epstein files and shielded pedophiles.
He set up a corrupt slush fund to reward white supremacists who attacked our democracy.
And he has weaponized the DOJ as Trump's personal law firm.
He has no business serving as AG and the Senate must reject his nomination.
61 years ago, the Voting Rights Act became law.
But today, Trump & Republicans are gutting the VRA, emboldening white supremacy, & disenfranchising millions of people.
Congress must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act to protect our democracy and the sacred right to vote.
The termination of TPS for Haiti is devastating and cruel.
To our TPS holders in the #MA7 and beyond, your humanity, dignity, and lives matter. And I'll do everything in my power to support you and your families.
My full statement:
Our Head Start programs are impactful & life-changing for our babies.
But Trump wants to eliminate this essential program, lower its quality standards, & deny our most vulnerable children a first-rate early education.
Trump should keep his grubby little hands off Head Start.

The data doesn't lie & our report makes it plain: fare-free transit is essential to building more connected communities, improving mobility, & making life more affordable.
Congress must pass my Freedom to Move Act with @markey.senate.gov to support fare-free transit everywhere.
Reposted byCongresswoman Ayanna Pressley
From Worcester to the Merrimack Valley, Massachusetts knows what’s possible with fare-free transit. My new report with @pressley.house.gov shows that going fare free saves money, grows ridership & simplifies transit. We must pass the Freedom to Move Act so communities can go fare free.
After conducting critical oversight of the Dilley ICE detention center, our message is clear: Dilley must be shut down and ICE must stop family separation, medical negligence, & childhood trauma.
The layered attacks on Black folks by Donald Trump has deepened the economic inequities facing Black communities.
But the consequences reverberate far beyond us.
This @naturbanleague.bsky.social report affirms what we know to be true: this harm is coming for everyone.
We must shut down Dilley and end the for-profit prison system that allows companies like CoreCivic to profit from mass incarceration and the abuse, neglect, & trauma of our immigrant neighbors.
Close Dilley. Abolish ICE. Not one more cent to this campaign of terror.
Earlier this week, I conducted oversight of the Dilley ICE detention center.
What every duly elected Member of Congress has a right to do, but the Trump Administration continues to obstruct.
They’re trying to silence the harrowing testimonies coming from behind the walls of these detention camps.
I hear from constituents every day that housing is their first, second, & third priority.
That’s why I’m proud to deliver $500K in federal funding to support Mattapan seniors' housing and their right to age with dignity.
Everybody deserves a place to rest, dream, & call home.
I've been fighting to prevent the stealing of SNAP benefits for years & I'm thrilled to see Massachusetts lead the way.
These first-of-its-kind EBT cards will make it safer & easier for folks to access their essential benefits to feed their families.
TY Governor Healey for your leadership.
If you are outraged by the number of Black & low-income people that are incarcerated, the same for-profit system is driving the unlawful detainment & deportation of our immigrant neighbors.
These are two sides of a very evil for-profit coin.
Families in the #MA7 are grappling with a housing & affordability crisis.
That's why I'm proud to deliver $500K in federal funds to make the Brooke House Village Center in Mattapan a reality.
This is an investment in healthy aging that will help our elders thrive with dignity.
61 years ago, Medicare & Medicaid became law & have helped provide care for elders, disabled & low-income families.
Yet Trump & Republicans gutted these vital programs to pay for tax breaks for billionaires.
I'll never stop fighting to save healthcare & affirm it as a human right.
