This 'visit' opened the doors to a massive security threat to the Speaker, to our Congress, and to democracy itself. All while Trump funds the Russian war machine by removing sanctions on their oil this week. This is another extension of the administration’s moral equivalency of Russia & Ukraine.
Let's be clear: Russia illegally invaded Ukraine in 2022. Military aid and sanctions by the United States and our allies have been the ONE thing standing in Putin’s way of rebuilding the Soviet Union. Foreign political operatives of our adversaries should NEVER be allowed on Capitol Hill.
I just heard that my Republican colleagues met with members of the Russian Duma, with Rep. Luna giving them a private tour of our Capitol yesterday—including Speaker Johnson's offices!
These workers—including at O'Hare—refuse to let TSA workers "be used as pawns in this dangerous game." I agree—and I hope my colleagues agree to fund every part of DHS except Trump's extreme deportation operation.
Flight attendants, airport mechanics, and other aerospace workers don't want ICE at our airports either. A recent joint statement from aerospace worker unions noted how DHS has billions of dollars to pay TSA, but instead the president has once again chosen to use ICE as a cudgel.
Happy Opening Day⚾️ I'm on the House Floor voting right now but I wish I could be with everyone at Wrigley. Go, @cubsbot.bsky.social, go!
- Medicaid❤️‍🩹 for an additional 1.3 million Americans, - Food stamps/SNAP🍎 for another 5.5 million Americans, - Housing🏠️ for additional 1 million Americans, and - Preschool🚌 for over 900,000 kids. As of today, he’s now spent $28 billion. This spending spree has to stop.
Today is #EqualPayDay! On average, women had to work all of 2025 and every day of 2026 till today, just to make the same amount men did in 2025. The fight for equal pay is far from over. I'm proud to support my colleagues in the @demwomencaucus.bsky.social in the fight for fair wages.
My colleagues and I on the Food Safety Caucus are calling for the FDA to force a recall on Raw Farm cheese immediately. No one should get sick from their food.
The head of the International Energy Agency says Trump's war with Iran a "major threat" to the global economy. This president is willing to create a worldwide economic depression—and a global energy crisis—with no plan to get us out of it.
If someone says Democrats are asking too much from ICE & CBP, they are lying to you. Republicans would rather keep pumping money into a billion-dollar deportation machine willing to abuse, kill, and kidnap anyone who gets in the way. The choice is clear.
I want to dismantle ICE—but Republicans won't even agree to do the bare minimum. Body cameras, proper identification, and REAL warrants are standard requirements for any police officer in the United States. There's no reason we shouldn't expect this from federal agents. More on this below.
Commuter rail is in crisis. My BRIDGE Act will create a brand-new program to dedicate $1.5 billion annually in fixing commuter rail bridges across the country.🚆
Senate Republicans are trying to appease Trump by passing the SAVE Act to ban vote-by-mail. The very same voting method Trump used earlier this month. Vote by mail helps many Americans who can't get to the polls (including our own president).
As the DHS funding fight continues, I’m cosponsoring @delauro.house.gov's bill to fund TSA, FEMA, and other critical agencies within DHS, without giving another unneeded cent to ICE and CBP. Republicans need to decide if they want to serve the American people more than they want to cater to Trump.
I don’t trust ICE in our airports any more than I did on the streets of Chicago. They are far more likely to cause fear than allay flyers' security concerns. Read my full statement on ICE agents at O’Hare here.
