The 14th Amendment is clear as day: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States. . . are citizens of the United States."
An executive order cannot change the Constitution.

Today should have marked 52 years of Roe v. Wade.
When the Supreme Court overturned that landmark decision, they turned back the clock on women’s rights in America.
This fight is far from over. I'll keep working to restore Roe's protections and enshrine abortion rights into federal law.
I'm seeking immediate clarification from the DOT on Trump's executive order withholding Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funds.
These are dollars Arizona is counting on for our roads and highways, airports and water infrastructure.
2/ Some of these projects are already well underway, and withholding federal funding could leave state and local governments on the hook.
I will not sit by while Trump robs Arizonans of promised investments in our communities.
1/ Buried in Trump's flurry of Executive Orders is a line that halts funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
That means withholding funds for projects like the I-10 expansion, investments in Sky Harbor and Mesa Gateway Airports and upgrades to our water infrastructure.
Thanks to our CHIPS Act, ASU will soon be home to a state-of-the-art research facility to test out prototype chips at scale—the first of its kind in the U.S.
We’ll be developing the next-gen tech America needs to compete with China right here in #AZ04.

This is why passing the Afghan Adjustment Act is still critical. We have a moral duty to fulfill the promise America made to our Afghan allies. They risked everything to fight for the American mission, and now the Taliban is targeting them and their families.
They stood by us—we must stand by them.
If you want to lower prices, across the board tariffs on America’s largest trading partners is just about the worst idea possible.
Breaking news: The US could impose tariffs of 25% on Mexican and Canadian imports from February 1, Donald Trump has said www.ft.com/content/a6ce...
We need to secure the border and fix our broken immigration system.
But Trump's executive order to end birthright citizenship strikes at the core of our national identity.
For good reason it's been the law of the land for 150 years—guaranteed by the 14th Amendment.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. challenged America to fully live up to its highest ideals.
Despite the challenges we face as a nation, I believe—as Dr. King did—that we must never give up striving to make our country a better, more just place for the generations that follow.
The inauguration is a bipartisan affair.
I’m here at the U.S. Capitol this morning with members of the Class of 2018—Republicans and Democrats.
2/ However, I will never compromise on our values and I will fight against any effort to strip away Arizonans' fundamental freedoms.

1/ Today we come together to watch another peaceful transfer of power—the cornerstone of our democracy.
As President Trump retakes office, here’s my promise: I'll work to find common ground when it’s in Arizona’s best interest.
Arizona is on the front lines of drought & extreme heat from climate change.
We can’t afford to undo our progress on clean energy investments & protections from extreme weather. I joined 110 of my colleagues on a letter committing to #StandStrongForClimate in the 119th Congress.
15 more drugs subject to Medicare price negotiation were just announced, which means even more Arizona seniors are going to see major out-of-pocket savings.
We're taking on Big Pharma and we're winning.
After enduring 16 months in Hamas captivity, Romi Gonen, Emily Damari and Doron Steinbrecher are free and reunited with their families at long last.
We won't stop until we #BringThemAllHome.

Productive meeting with Mayor Regina Romero in Washington. I'm glad to have her as a partner on water management, affordable housing, and developing Arizona’s small business community!
Proud to be the Ranking Member of the @transportdems.bsky.social Economic Development, Public Buildings & Emergency Management Subcommittee!
Our jurisdiction over issues like FEMA's response to wildfires & extreme heat and infrastructure at ports of entry along the border is critical for AZ.
NEW: Thanks to our Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is receiving $84.3 million to build a new 2,100-foot taxiway bridge to reduce delays & improve efficiency.
That means when you fly at Sky Harbor, you’ll get where you want to go quicker.
