We’ve seen how devastating PFAS and forever chemicals are to humans, animals, and our environment. It’s time to eradicate PFAS once and for all—starting with containment.
I’m proud to lead a bipartisan effort to ensure our municipalities can target and eradicate PFAS contamination in our waterways.
Investing in modernizing our road infrastructure is crucial to moving West Michigan forward. As a T&I member, I’m committed to supporting projects like the US-131 improvements in Byron Township. So excited to see all the progress that’s being made up close! I can’t wait to see this when it’s done.
My PURE Water Act is working to help communities like these keep their water clean, so our residents can be healthy. Thanks for an informative tour! Our work continues!
Managing our community’s sewer authorities is a deeply important job. Thanks to our partners at North Kent Sewer Authority and Plainfield Township for a great tour of the North Kent facilities, and a great chat about the important work to keep contaminants — including PFAS — out of our water.
Nothing quite like an ice cream social with MI AARP to celebrate 90 years of Social Security! We must continue working to protect the Social Security benefits that Americans work their entire lives to earn.
Michigan-based and made in America — that’s the Andronaco way! I enjoyed touring their facilities in Kentwood to learn more about their day-to-day operations and voice my support for our domestic manufacturing industry.
We're putting your federal tax dollars to work in Wyoming! The streamside buffer program, which protects Buck Creek (a tributary of the Grand River and Lake Michigan) from erosion and pollutants, was made possible by a grant from the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
On this day 90 years ago, FDR signed Social Security into law, so all Americans can retire with dignity. Nine decades later, Social Security has never missed a payment, and I’m working to protect these crucial benefits for millions of Americans. #SocSec90
When it comes to our national security, I’m all for our defense vehicles being made in America—and even better—made in West Michigan. RENK, a Muskegon-based manufacturer, employs hundreds of community members, including veterans, and is working hard to keep our nation secure & troops well-equipped.
Another great town hall in the books! Thanks to those who joined me in Muskegon for my seniors town hall, part of my Scholten Summer Town Hall Series. I’m continuing to work for our senior neighbors to ensure that they have what they need to live out their golden years with ease.
So proud to join Sen Brinks, and the MI Women's Commission for the Menopause: It’s A Movement Panel, where we highlighted the importance of funding women’s health research, making health care accessible for all, and ensuring that women feel heard in their health care decisions.
Women’s health isn’t taboo. But let me tell ya, it sure feels that way sometimes! I think it’s safe to say, I’m the first West Michigan member of Congress to kick off a menopause event!

I'm excited to host the next town hall in my Summer Town Hall Series next Wednesday, August 20th in Wyoming! I hope to see you there.

It was great to visit teachers at the Gerald Ford Academic Center and help them set up their classrooms before the start of a new school year.
Our educators are facing tons of instability after Trump gutted the Department of Education, but Gov. Whitmer, Michigan Senate Majority Leader Brinks, and I are rock steady in our support for Michigan’s teachers and public schools.
Great to sit in on the 5th Annual Sustainable Business Policy Forum, a truly collaborative space to discuss how public policy can support clean energy, sustainable supply chains, and responsible innovation. It’s incredible to see the West Michigan spirit of innovation in the green business space!
As a @transportdems.bsky.social member, I was proud to review West Michigan’s freight rail operations up close with the Michigan Railroads Assoc. I’m committed to supporting our local transportation employees, and securing the crucial investments they need to continue their important work.
The first day of school is right around the corner, West Michigan, and there are many great opportunities to receive school supplies if your family is in need of them. Check out some happening in our community here! wwmt.com/news/local/l...
It’s an honor to help send young West Michiganders off to our nation’s service academies every year, and my office is now accepting applications for 2025 Service Academy Nominations.
