ICYMI: I was proud to host Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill with Rep. Young Kim and the Jump$tart Coalition. Thank you, Rep. Kim and Jump$tart team, for your ongoing partnership to ensure financial literacy remains a priority.📚
It was my pleasure to be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award during HBCU Alumni Weekend 2025 in Columbus. I also joined some Buckeye fans to cheer them on during their win! Thank you, all, for the warm welcome.
On the first stop of @HRC's national tour, I sat down with Kelley Robinson, for a conversation on LGBTQ+ rights and the hope that inspires us all to fight for a better future. 📺Watch our full conversation here: https://bit.ly/4nkAWln 🔗 Visit the @HRC YouTube channel for the full episode and series.
Congrats to #RolandMartinUnfiltered (7 yrs) and Black Star Network (4 yrs)! Thank you Roland Martin for standing up, speaking out; being the best of Black journalism. Now more than ever, we need the unflinching voice of Black-owned media.
On Labor Day, we honor the achievements of American workers. From securing safer working conditions to establishing the 40-hour work week, union workers have built a stronger, fairer, and more prosperous nation. Today and every day, we celebrate the workers who continue to power our progress.
ICYMI: This weekend I was honored to speak at the NAACP Ohio Freedom Fund Dinner and to receive the President’s Award. Grateful for your tireless fight for justice and opportunity across our state.
I proudly joined Rep. Smith and Rep. Bonamici to reintroduce a bill that increases funding and expands service coordinator programs. These programs are essential to providing Ohio families with critical social services like health care and food. 🔗Read more at the link here: bit.ly/4mXIXwt
Here's what repealing clean energy means: a $400 INCREASE in YOUR energy bills! ❌ The Republican economy agenda only makes the cost of living more expensive for working Americans. And Democrats aren't standing for it.
This week, we celebrate the 105th anniversary of the 19th Amendment being ratified, giving women the right to vote, a major milestone in the ongoing fight for voting rights. As we continue the fight for voting rights for all, I'm thinking of the activists that came before us that led the fight.
The Republican Rate Hike is hidden in the so-called "One Big Beautiful Act" But there's nothing beautiful about a 50% hike in electricity prices for Ohioans! The Republican Rate Hike — needs to take a hike!
I am disappointed that Governor DeWine has chosen to send Ohio National Guard troops to support Trump’s militarization efforts in D.C. The men and women of Ohio’s National Guard signed up to serve their country, not a lawless President who repeatedly ignores our nation’s constitution and principles.
After our Social Security forum on Monday, I spoke to the press about the urgency of the issues our seniors communicated to me regarding their earned benefits. Democrats built Social Security and have defended it against decades of attacks. We won't stop now. 🔗Full video?: youtu.be/wAhuxiRx2A0?...
Today marks the 90th anniversary of when Social Security was signed into law — a promise we made to America’s seniors that they could retire with dignity. Want to know why Social Security matters? Hear from our panelists at Monday’s forum as they share why it matters.
90 years ago today America made a promise: after a lifetime of work, no one should fall into poverty in old age. Today, 2.5M Ohioans rely on Social Security. Over $49.8B flows into Ohio annually, supporting seniors, families, and local businesses with real economic impact. We must keep this promise.
