The USPS must swiftly implement the Inspector General's recommendations to restore public trust and ensure that Sacramento County residents have the secure and reliable mail services they deserve.

I called for the U.S. Postal Service Inspector General to conduct an audit on mail theft in Sacramento County.
The results of the audit are in and they are completely unacceptable.
The number of keys that are missing that are likely being used to break into mailboxes is unacceptable.
We are going to hold the Postal Service accountable to fix this problem.
Read the audit report here ⬇️

I’ve heard from a ton of Sacramento County residents about the increase in mail theft and cluster mailbox break-ins in our community.
Last year, my office asked for an U.S. Postal Service Inspector General audit and we just got that audit back.
I urge the Administration to not go forward with this harmful decision.
Eliminating funding will only increase the spread of curable diseases and cause preventable deaths around the world— and make us more vulnerable at home.
Gavi has vaccinated over a billion children in developing nations since 2000 and helped prevent more than 18 million child deaths.
This organization has long enjoyed bipartisan support, including during the first Trump administration. This should not be a partisan issue.
Investing in vaccination efforts abroad keeps deadly diseases from reaching our shores.
Americans are safer and healthier due to these investments.
That’s why I’m deeply concerned by the Trump administration’s intent to eliminate funding for Gavi.

What was shared by Pete Hegseth in the Signal group chat is classified information by any definition.
His failure to take accountability continues to diminish his credibility.
It is time for Secretary Hegseth to do the honorable thing and resign.
Secretary Hegseth breached security protocols by sharing classified information in a Signal group chat.
He has refused to take accountability for his actions.
I am calling on him to resign.
Today at @houseforeign.bsky.social, we heard directly from USAID workers laid off by Elon Musk and Donald Trump.
Without the vital aid provided by USAID, people are going to die.
We need to tell these stories.
I will continue to speak out and fight to save lives around the world.
🚨 My office has now recovered over $20 MILLION in owed benefits for #SacramentoCounty taxpayers.

I'll continue to fight against Republican-led efforts to roll back the progress we've made and keep working to ensure every American has access to affordable, quality health care.
15 years ago today, President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act into law.
As a doctor, I've seen firsthand how the ACA has helped patients get the health care they need.
Social Security is a lifeline for millions of seniors.
For many, it is their only source of income.
Missing a payment could mean unpaid rent, skipped meals and financial hardship.
These comments are out of touch and reckless. America’s seniors deserve better.

I joined 43 of my colleagues in calling on Secretary Rubio to fire Darren Beattie from his post.
Darren Beattie was fired by the first Trump admin for attending a white nationalist conference.
Yet now he holds a top position at the State Department.
Beattie's well-documented history of making fringe and racist statements disqualifies him from representing our nation on the world stage.
Education is the foundation of success in our country.
Donald Trump’s illegal efforts to eliminate the Department of Education threaten the futures of millions of students across America.
We must fight this overreach in court and invest in the futures of our students.
I remain committed to working closely with Jessica and other leaders to defend access to affordable, quality health care for all Californians.
With nearly 15 million Californians relying on Medi-Cal, these major cuts pose a significant threat to health care coverage for seniors, children and working families across our state.
I met yesterday with Covered California Executive Director Jessica Altman to discuss the serious consequences of proposed federal funding cuts, including Republican-led efforts to cut $880 billion from Medicaid.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
