Trump’s latest EO asking AI companies to voluntarily provide early access to models is not sufficient. It mirrors a broader pattern of creating a wild west environment, rather than ensuring safe and responsible AI governance to protect the American public. My statement:
As Republicans continue to refuse to rein in the President, thousands of small businesses are closing their doors for good. Main Street America and the American Dream should not be casualties of Trump's illegal war.
This is dangerous for our national security. Instead of starting costly new wars, Trump should focus on doing the basics. More than 100 ambassador posts are unfilled, including key postings in the Middle East, South Asia, and Europe. www.nbcnews.com/politics/nat...
This is insane. Bill Pulte has no business being anywhere near intelligence or national security. His main qualification seems to be a willingness to misuse private information to pursue spurious attacks on Trump's perceived enemies. Imagine what he's planning to do as DNI.
This Daniel Charles Ball, a J6 rioter pardoned by Trump after being charged for allegedly throwing an explosive at police on January 6. Ball is one of many J6ers who has since been arrested again on criminal charges, and if Trump has his way can also seek taxpayer money from Trump’s slush fund.
This is Rita Buckley, a former nurse living with a traumatic brain injury. Rita lost access to critical therapy after her clinic shut down due to Trump’s healthcare funding cuts.
Tonight at 5:30, the City and Congressman Don Beyer, will install a memorial bench honoring the 67 individuals who lost their lives in the tragic collision that occurred outside of Ronald Reagan National Airport on Jan 29, 2025. #alexandriava #mayorofalx #alyiaforalx
After he was found liable of sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll, Donald Trump is now using the Department of Justice — now led by his former personal lawyer — to go after her. It's disgusting, and no president should be able to abuse the powers of the executive in this way. www.cnn.com/2026/05/27/p...
Almost half of American households can’t afford basic necessities and instead of legislating to deliver solutions for the American people, my Republican colleagues in Congress are preoccupied with fulfilling the President's vanity project wishes. www.npr.org/2026/05/28/n...
This Mental Health Awareness Month, I sat down with @salinas.house.gov to talk about the status of mental healthcare in America. We know there's lots of work to do, and the Mental Health Caucus is working to educate and move solutions forward.
Allowing Donald Trump to desecrate Arlington National Cemetery to inflate his ego would not only be wrong, it would also be illegal and a massive waste of taxpayer money.   As I told @jaketapper.bsky.social, I’m asking my Republican colleagues join my bill to stop it:
Trump, Rubio, and Musk killed many thousands of the poorest and most vulnerable people around the world by cutting off aid for food and medical supplies, which earned us influence and goodwill while saving lives. But they're spending millions to put gold leaf on bronze horses.
SCOOP: The Trump administration is paying millions to quickly cover four enormous bronze horses with extra-thick 23.75 karat gold leaf. The money for the rush job is coming from National Park Service funds. In total, I found ~$100 mil spent on new DC beautification projects.
