Unidentified, masked ICE agents seizing people from their homes or off the street and whisking them away in unmarked vehicles is draconian and reminiscent of police states. The No Secret Police Act is how we stop it.

Our national security should never be compromised by corruption and retribution, but Donald Trump abuses the security clearance process to reward his allies and punish political adversaries.
The SECURE Act and Security Clearance Review Act would stop it.
Our House food service workers do a great job taking care of us in the Capitol. As the new House food vendors start operations, My colleagues with @laborcaucus.house.gov and I are asking that they rehire the existing workforce and uphold their existing union contract.
NEW: 74 U.S. Representatives Warn Trump Administration To Halt Potentially Illegal Mass Firings Of Federal Workers
"Resuming RIFs and reorganizations is premature and risks irreversible harm to federal employees and to our nation."

The other pretext Trump cites for threatening a 50% tariff on Brazil is the legal prosecution of a former president who responded to losing an election by trying to seize power in a coup.
Not hard to understand why Trump would come to his defense!

Trump tries to bully Brazil with a huge 50% tariff over an "unfair trade relationship." We have a trade *surplus* with Brazil.
Trump will raise Americans' prices for coffee and juice to punish Brazil for importing American goods.
Doesn't that make sense?

Gov. Youngkin defended mass firings in our Commonwealth, and Lt. Gov. Sears went so far as to mock Virginians who lost their jobs.
This is what happens when Trump slams Virginia's economy and our leaders who should stand up to him cheer him on instead:

Trump promised "20 deals," "50 deals," "70 deals," "90 deals in 90 days," and even "200 deals." What happened to all those deals?
Well...

Americans in need of vital medical treatment will suffer because the Trump Administration is throwing away years of research, millions of dollars, and expert personnel. We can't allow this administration to stop our scientists and doctors from doing this life saving work.

At the House Science Committee Democrats' event "The Things We'll Never Know: A Science Fair of Canceled Grants" we learned, straight from the researchers who've had their grants canceled by the Trump Administration, what we stand to lose when science is politicized.

On January 6th, brave officers responded to defend our democracy. Congress commissioned a plaque to honor them, but Republicans are still ignoring the deadline to install it. They refuse to do the bare minimum to recognize this heroic sacrifice.
These officers deserve better.
Spamming our allies with ransom demands that will again create uncertainty.
Clearly nobody - including Trump's top advisers or even the wildly incoherent President himself - knows what Trump will do at this point, but if he imposes these tariffs Americans will pay the cost.

Here's how you can help those impacted by the catastrophic flooding in Texas Hill Country, along with safety tips for dealing with flood warnings and what to do when you encounter flood waters.
This is devastating news. I’m heartbroken for all those impacted by this tragic flooding and continue to keep Central Texas in my thoughts.
I'm deeply grateful to our first responders and everyone helping amid this catastrophic disaster.

Happy Independence Day! Now more than ever we need to celebrate the incredible feat that is our democracy and stand up to defend it from all who seek to destroy it.

Once again we are here in the dead of night, to debate and vote on Republicans’ bill that takes food and health care from those who need them to shower tax cuts on billionaires.
Given a short time to talk, I used it to cast our moral choice in terms my Republican colleagues in the room would hear.

Every single House Democrat will stand up for the American people.
We just need four Republicans to join us.

Just took to the House Floor to speak in support of a country where everyone can afford to live the good life.
And in strong opposition to Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill that is devastating to everyday Americans.
We will not be silenced.
