Trump’s mass firings and cuts are draining Virginia’s economy, and hurting services Virginians need.
Historical unemployment data from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis shows that this is the first time Virginia's unemployment rate has continuously risen over half a year since the Great Recession job losses of 2008-2009:

NEW: Today's monthly job data just issued by the Administration found that Virginia's unemployment rate just rose AGAIN, for the sixth month in a row: bls.gov/news.release...
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics wrote that "Virginia had the only rate increase" last month.
These incidents must be investigated, but more importantly this bloody, destructive war must end.
The killing of 20-year-old U.S. citizen Saifullah Musallet is horrifying and unacceptable. Today a Catholic church in Gaza sheltering mostly children was bombed.
So many innocents have been killed, and so many of these deaths have happened at Gaza Humanitarian Foundation sites.
Republicans just blocked another vote to force release of the Epstein files, this time in the Senate.
The resolution to force a vote was offered by @gallego.senate.gov; Republicans immediately moved to prevent a vote.
Republicans want to continue to let foreign governments funnel billions of dollars directly to the President through the blockchain.
The Constitution’s Emoluments Clause doesn’t make exceptions for Trump's crypto grift.
This morning: government data shows Trump's tariffs are driving prices increases and pushing inflation higher.
This afternoon: Trump announces a new 19% tariff on Indonesia, a top-25 trading partner of the U.S.
Americans will see even higher costs thanks to Trump.
Every child in America deserves access to a quality education.
Congress created the Department of Education to keep that promise.
Trump cannot legally destroy @usedgov.bsky.social by eliminating its workforce.
We will keep fighting as this case continues to move through the legal system.
“An NBC News analysis of building materials and import data found that the total cost of building a mid-range single-family home could rise by more than $4,000 — an estimate that industry experts who reviewed the analysis called conservative. ”

Unidentified, masked ICE agents seizing people from their homes or off the street and whisking them away in unmarked vehicles is draconian and reminiscent of police states. The No Secret Police Act is how we stop it.

Our national security should never be compromised by corruption and retribution, but Donald Trump abuses the security clearance process to reward his allies and punish political adversaries.
The SECURE Act and Security Clearance Review Act would stop it.
Our House food service workers do a great job taking care of us in the Capitol. As the new House food vendors start operations, My colleagues with @laborcaucus.house.gov and I are asking that they rehire the existing workforce and uphold their existing union contract.

The other pretext Trump cites for threatening a 50% tariff on Brazil is the legal prosecution of a former president who responded to losing an election by trying to seize power in a coup.
Not hard to understand why Trump would come to his defense!

Trump tries to bully Brazil with a huge 50% tariff over an "unfair trade relationship." We have a trade *surplus* with Brazil.
Trump will raise Americans' prices for coffee and juice to punish Brazil for importing American goods.
Doesn't that make sense?

Gov. Youngkin defended mass firings in our Commonwealth, and Lt. Gov. Sears went so far as to mock Virginians who lost their jobs.
This is what happens when Trump slams Virginia's economy and our leaders who should stand up to him cheer him on instead:

Trump promised "20 deals," "50 deals," "70 deals," "90 deals in 90 days," and even "200 deals." What happened to all those deals?
Well...
