Today on Yom HaShoah I honor my grandfather and all 6 million Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust. We hold their memory in our hearts by understanding the history and the force of hate, fear, and scapegoating that made a genocide by the Nazis possible.
Trump is cutting Alzheimer’s research. It was never about going after waste, fraud, and abuse. It’s about cutting programs that help regular people stay afloat in order to claw back money for tax breaks to the billionaires.
8 workers at Pleasant Valley Farm were arrested yesterday. Border patrol gave no reason for the arrest. When farm workers live in fear that they'll be snatched up, it doesn’t make us safer. It leaves us without food on our tables and real families without their dads or brothers.
What stage of oligarchic capitalism is a subscription service for the government to use military technology…?
Elon Musk's SpaceX is the frontrunner to build Trump's "Golden Dome" missile shield. SpaceX is proposing a subscription service where the government would pay to access the technology, rather than own it. Experts think the project could cost hundreds of billions. www.reuters.com/business/aer...
"If they're so damn proud of the work they're doing for our government, then show you're damn faces." @balint.house.gov tells @deanobeidallah.bsky.social about the Trump administration demanding universities ban masks, but allow ICE agents to hide their identity as they grab people off the street.
RFK Jr.’s disparaging comments about people with autism are deeply disturbing and outrageous. These are our friends, family members, and neighbors. Every single person deserves dignity, respect, and all the good things life has to offer.
Dear Senator Murkowski, You have power as a United States Senator whose party is in the majority. We each have power, but you do especially. Find your bravery and others will follow. I promise you. Our democracy depends on it. Sincerely, Becca
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R): "We are all afraid…I am oftentimes very anxious myself about using my voice because retaliation is real."
My colleagues and I demand answers from Kristi Noem and Marco Rubio about the illegal and inhumane abduction of Mohsen Mahdawi, a permanent legal resident of the United States. The Constitution guarantees people within our borders basic rights, including due process and free speech.
Kilmar Abrego Garcia must be released and brought home to Maryland. He is innocent. No government can snatch people off the street and ship them to prison without due process. It should terrify us all. I'm thankful @vanhollen.senate.gov is headed there to demand his release.
I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia. I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.
"It is critically important that we as Americans, regardless of party, stand up for all of these students who are being detained," says Vermont's @balint.house.gov. "This has got to stop. This is Trump creating his own army of brownshirts right here in our country."
The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that the United States government must return Kilmar Abrego Garcia home from prison in El Salvador. Donald Trump is blatantly ignoring and denying the ruling. Yes, we are in a constitutional crisis.
Vermont is enraged that the Trump administration is sending masked men to snatch up legal residents to essentially disappear them with no evidence. Good people across this country are standing up and resisting. I don't recognize America at this point. Release Mohsen Mahdawi NOW.
Today, Mohsen Mahdawi, a legal resident of Vermont, walked into an immigration office to complete a final step for citizenship. Instead, he was arrested by plain-clothed, armed individuals with faces covered. This is immoral, inhumane, and illegal. He must receive due process and be released.
