Unlike the Trump administration, our immigrant communities heavily contribute to and strengthen our economy. Today, I joined colleagues at @housebudgetdems.bsky.social to make this clear.
My @demwomencaucus.bsky.social colleagues and I are committed to advancing equality in the workplace and an economy that works for women. Because Equal Pay Day isn't just about today, it’s about shaping the future for all women and girls.
For the second year in a row, the gender pay gap has gotten worse. Women make only 81 cents for every dollar a man makes--and it's even lower for women of color. And Trump and Republicans' anti-women policies are only widening the gap.
I joined @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social to stand for natural disaster survivors in CA, and across the country, to ensure they receive their disaster relief tax-free. Because when our neighbors need help, we need to support them. Now, we must bring this bill to the House Floor for a vote immediately.
It's been over a year, and families in my district are still recovering from the Eaton Fire. They are fighting to rebuild their homes, communities, and lives. And many have just begun to receive settlement offers.
They are hiding the mishandling of Americans' sensitive Social Security data. They are hiding the reckless DOGE leaks. They are hiding Trump's attempt to cut critical childcare funding. We cannot let them hide. Americans deserve answers.
Republicans are once again keeping the American people in the dark. Today, Republicans quietly passed a rule blocking Democrats' attempts for full transparency from this White House.
While Americans are facing an affordability crisis, Republicans are choosing to funnel money away from feeding families, supporting our Veterans, and educating our children -- to fund an illegal war in Iran.
Over and over again, Trump has taken billions of American tax dollars for everything other than what the American people actually need.
Treating disaster relief as a partisan issue is despicable. It’s been over a year since the Eaton Fire and families and small businesses are still struggling to recover. When Trump decides to play political games with disaster aid, he is punishing millions of Americans.
Congress can pass Democrats' bill to fund TSA today, but Trump & Republicans refuse. Workers are going unpaid. Our immigrant communities are being terrorized. This isn't right.
Trump’s deployment of his lawless, untrained ICE agents to airports is deeply concerning. They are imposing fear, confusion, and violence onto people and families just traveling home, or to work, or to see loved ones.
While Democrats helped more than 50 million people gain coverage, Republicans chose to kick 15 million people off coverage & send premiums skyrocketing for millions more. That's unacceptable. I will continue to fight for an affordable and accessible health care system.
16 years ago, Democrats revolutionized health care with the Affordable Care Act. Today, Republicans don't care if families can afford health care.
Eid Mubarak! Wishing all who celebrate in CA-28 and across the country many blessings. May the end of Ramadan bring you peace and clarity.
While hardworking Americans struggle to afford groceries, President Trump and Republicans are pouring billions of taxpayer dollars into a war with Iran instead of lowering costs here at home. At a time when families need relief, this is a clear misplacement of priorities.
