My dear friend Cecile Richards was a force for justice, compassion, and progress. Her relentless fight for reproductive rights and gender equality changed lives and inspired millions. Her legacy will endure.
Today, the Biden Administration announced the next 15 drugs for Medicare price negotiations, adding to the 10 from last year. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, costs have already dropped 40-80% on top Medicare drugs, saving money for hardworking Americans.
I have long called for action on largely unregulated additives and chemicals in our foods. I applaud the FDA and the Biden Administration for banning Red 3 and getting shit done to protect Americans.
BREAKING: FDA bans the use of Red No. 3, a synthetic dye that has been linked to cancer in animals and behavioral problems in children. Companies have until at least 2027 to reformulate their products.
@GovNedLamont, @CTDOTOfficial, my CT delegation colleagues, and I announced $11.6M for Connecticut through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to expand The Hartford Line! This investment will boost the economy, create jobs, and help combat the rising cost of living.
The GOP Child Predator Empowerment Act would subject girls as young as four to physical inspections by adults WITHOUT parents present. This bill doesn’t make sports fairer or safer, it opens the door for child predators. I'm a NO.
There’s no reason Red 3 should be allowed in our food when it’s banned from being used on our skin. That is why I am calling on the Biden Administration to act now and use its regulatory authority to ban the use of Red 3 in our food.
Thanks to the voices of farmers like Will DellaCamera, & the support of Rep. John Larson & Rep. Joe Courtney, I created the Farm & Recovery Support Block Grant. New England small & medium farmers will receive the help they need to thrive after any extreme weather event. For more⬇️
The fires in Los Angeles are devastating. My thoughts are with all those affected and the heroic first responders risking their lives to protect their communities. We will work together to ensure Los Angeles recovers and provide support where it’s needed.
Today, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs announced it's expanding PACT Act eligibility to veterans suffering from several more cancers. Veterans, as well as survivors of veterans who passed due to these conditions, can now apply for benefits. My office is here to help you navigate this process.
🚨ICYMI: The Treasury's final rule on outbound investment has taken effect! I fought hard to get this done, including funding this effort, & I am glad the Biden Administration is acting to protect American jobs, businesses, & innovation. For more: home.treasury.gov/policy-issue...
I witnessed the violence, fear, & chaos Trump’s lies & conspiracies brought to our halls. As he returns to the presidency, we can’t let this chapter be rewritten. We must protect our democracy.
Today, I join my colleagues in the 119th Congress in Washington, D.C. There is no bigger honor for me than to continue representing and fighting for the people of Connecticut’s third district. Let’s get to work.
Jimmy Carter was a giant - a man of unparalleled compassion, humility, and service. From his leadership as President to his Nobel Peace Prize winning work on human rights & global peace, he set a standard of leadership that inspires to this day. My heart goes out to his family.
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has died at the age of 100.
