While this bill is in the Senate’s hands, I'll continue to fight like hell against Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans’ disastrous budget that slashes Medicaid and SNAP just to give more tax breaks to the rich. If it comes back to the House for another vote, I’ll be voting NO again!

Medicaid funding is essential for nursing homes across PA, allowing them to provide high-quality care to one of our most vulnerable populations.
This week I met with PHCA to discuss how Republicans’ #ReverseRobinHood budget would harm care for seniors across our city, commonwealth, and country.

$1,000,000,000 in mystery spending?! The House Fold’Em Caucus (the Freedom Caucus) has LEVERAGE when Republicans vote this week on fixing their late-night rush job.
Prediction: HFC will cave like always & spend another week complaining.

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @cisneros.house.gov talks about Donald Trump trying to distract the American people from his plans to throw 16 million Americans off the health care to pay for billionaire tax breaks.
The #EqualPayAct was signed into law
62 years ago, YET women still make 75 cents for every
dollar men make.
This is outrageous- it's far past time to strengthen the
law & close the pay gap.
I’m proud to support the Paycheck Fairness Act to
ensure all Americans receive #EqualPayForEqualWork.

House Republicans passed one of the most expensive bills in history.
This is what’s in it:
To get serious about public safety, the Trump administration should shift immigration enforcement priorities back to efforts focused on people credibly suspected of involvement with violent crime. Trying to make a reported quota is wrong, and it undercuts actually putting public safety first. (4/4)
As with agents masking, the Trump approach is the opposite of what’s needed for putting public safety first! (3/4)
The Trump administration must also stop illegal deployments of National Guard and active-duty military, and stop ratcheting up rhetoric about the peaceful majority of protesters in California. De-escalation is what’s needed. (2/4)
Excessive masking by ICE & associated agents must STOP – the confusion and fear it causes opened the way for this impersonation robbery in Philadelphia!
Public safety demands the Trump administration stop agents from masking except in rare cases. (1/4)

🚨MAJOR BREAKING NEWS!🚨
We’re hearing that Republicans screwed up when they rushed their tax scam through without reading it. Now they have to RE-VOTE on it THIS WEEK.

It’s always good to see my Senate colleague @booker.senate.gov as we’re on our way back to DC to keep fighting against the GOP’s disastrous Medicaid cuts and #ForThePeople.
More than 100 Americans lose their lives to gun violence every day. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Victims and survivors of gun violence should be able to hold irresponsible gun sellers accountable for negligence.
That's why I'm co-leading legislation to restore this basic right.

🚨 All 22 Democratic Governors (@demgovs.org) have issued a joint statement about the CA National Guard being federalized and deployed to LA.
Here’s an article from @apnews.com that explains when deployments like this are legal and when they’re an abuse of power:

Today I successfully met with my constituent Mr. Ramon Morales Reyes, who is being held in ICE detention.
Despite evidence revealing that Ramon was framed by the person who robbed him, he remains in jail. I will keep fighting to combat the misinformation spread by DHS & ensure he has due process.
Eid Mubarak! I’m wishing all who are celebrating in Philly and beyond a joyful and blessed Eid al-Adha.
