The Trump Administration is enabling torture and sexual assault. Many of the people they’ve shipped out to CECOT are asylum seekers. Half had no criminal record whatsoever. These mass deportations to third-party countries must end.
Offshore drilling in California is a recipe for disaster.
It’s taxpayers – not big oil companies – who end up paying for the clean-up of inevitable leaks and spills that hurt our wildlife and coastal communities.
I was glad to join American Legion Post 303 to recognize Veterans Day and pay tribute to everyone who has worn our country’s uniform and the families who have stood beside them. It was also my honor to recognize Fred Green, El Cajon American Legion’s Veteran of the Year!
San Diego: now is the time to prepare for this weekend's storm. Take a look at these tips to prepare and find out how to report any damage or issues.
It was my honor to recognize these Vietnam veterans in my district and present them with a Vietnam War Commemoration Pin as a small token of our gratitude. It represents a promise that we won’t forget their service and their sacrifice for our country.
While YOUR costs have gone up on everything from food to electronics and gas, Donald Trump has raked in $1.8 billion over the past year.
Who do you think he’s really working for: you or himself?

Donald Trump spent more money bailing out Argentina than it would have cost to extend the ACA premium tax credits for 1 year.
So does MAGA actually stand for Make Argentina Great Again? Because if not, then why did Trump just double or triple millions of Americans’ health care premiums?
The House just passed a funding bill that does NOTHING to stop 15 million Americans from being kicked off their health care or protect our democracy. But it DOES let Senators involved in the January 6th investigation SUE the government for $500,000 each.
In case it wasn’t clear, I voted NO.
Millions of Americans will see their health care premiums double or triple next year – but instead of addressing that, what was the GOP’s priority? Sneaking a provision into the CR so Republican Senators could sue the DOJ for $500k each because of the January 6th investigation.
After 7 weeks of stalling, Mike Johnson finally swore in Rep. Adelita Grijalva — and she became the 218th signature on the discharge petition to release the Epstein files. The American people deserve transparency and the victims deserve justice. Today, we’re one step closer.
On Veterans Day, we recognize the incredible service and sacrifices made by our veterans. I’m so proud to represent San Diego’s veteran community and I’ll keep fighting in Congress to make sure veterans have the support and resources they’ve earned and deserve.
Happy birthday to the U.S. Marine Corps. Marines have played a crucial role in defending our country for 250 years and are an integral part of our San Diego community. Thank you and your families for your service and sacrifice. Semper Fi.
I’m so proud of how our San Diego community has come together during these difficult times – but it shouldn’t have to be this way. We should have affordable health care, groceries, housing, and a government that actually works.
Happy to announce that both my San Diego and Washington D.C. offices are now accepting internship applications for our Winter/Spring 2026 Term (Jan-April). Applications are due November 14, 2025 at 5pm local time.

But we shouldn’t forget that we are in this place to begin with because Republicans have refused to address the health care crisis at all, and are literally fighting in the courts to not feed hungry Americans. They’re not the heroes here.
Both Senate Democrats and Republicans have failed in their responsibility to address the health care crisis and rein in a dangerous president who consistently ignores Congress’s authority and the rule of law. This “deal” is offensive to the American people and I won’t support it.
Records Donald Trump has broken:
- Only president impeached twice
- Worst year for layoffs since 2009
- Longest government shutdown in history
Call it the Trump effect, I guess.
We’ve been warning about widespread travel delays since Republicans shut the government down 38 days ago.
Democrats have been demanding meetings to negotiate and reopen the government and Republicans have repeatedly refused. We can’t go on like this.
Starting yet another forever war won’t solve violence in Nigeria; in fact, it’s likely to escalate violence further. We had diplomacy, development, and conflict-prevention tools that could’ve addressed root causes, but Donald Trump slashed them.
I joined Feeding San Diego to distribute food in Sorrento Valley to our neighbors who are struggling to put food on the table — all because Republicans have refused to reopen the government. Thank you to everyone who is stepping up for our community right now.
