The GOP Military Construction and Veterans Affairs bill promotes premature retirements, paves the way for privatization, and leaves care delayed, denied, and diminished. We need to honor our veterans — not punish them and play political games by firing those who care for them.
SMH. The GOP plan to strip Americans of health care and bankrupt local hospitals takes another turn: kick 16 million off health care then subsidize hospitals for losing patients. Those poor Billionaire donors must really need their tax breaks.
In June of 1877, 10 Irish miners—the Molly Maguires—were hanged to silence their demand for dignity. As a union working-class daughter, I honor their courage. They fought for fair wages and justice underground and above. Their struggle lives on in every worker who still dares to organize—Onward! #1u
It is with great concern for our Republic and the long term safety of our people, and our military both at home and abroad that I must speak out about military force launched without Congressional approval. We must reassert our Constitutional authority before we are dragged into another endless war.
GOP Senators are saying Ohio could face $8.4 Billion in Medicaid cuts. They know how bad this bill would be for states like ours. They need to stand up for Ohioans, not pass legislation that closes local hospitals and rips health care away from 700,000+ across the Buckeye State.
Great to see Toledo Port Authority build on $1 Million in federal investment I brought home for our region. NW Ohio is a gateway to the world! I look forward to working with local leaders to bring consistent daily commercial air travel back to Toledo Express Airport.
On this day in 1944, the original GI Bill was signed into law, providing WWII veterans with the benefits they deserved. For decades, I’ve fought to uphold that legacy and ensure every veteran gets the care and respect they’ve earned. We must always stand with our vets—not just in words—but in deed.
If solar energy tax credits are repealed, Ohio stands to lose Billions in Private investment. If we don’t keep jobs of the future at home—we risk giving them away to China for generations. I want these jobs in NW Ohio—not overseas. Now it is up to our Senators to do what is right—and vote no!
I keep one simple truth at heart each and every day—I work for The People of NW Ohio—and I won’t stop that work, no matter how hard the Billionaires and big corporations try to stop me.
🧵 For decades, our workers gave everything to build this country. But trade deals, deregulation, and corporate greed—championed across Administrations—stripped away the backbone of America’s working class. Factories shuttered. Towns hollowed out. Families left to struggle.

Reviving production isn’t impossible—it is vital and necessary. Because you cannot pay for the future on a hollowed-out foundation. Real wealth is built by the bodies and hands that clock in, not spreadsheets and formulas that pinch pennie’s for corporate profits, and move our jobs overseas.
I’ve never stopped fighting for the people who do the hard work. We cannot rebuild this nation unless we restore what was taken from us. That means making things in America again. That means rewarding work, not speculation from Wall Street or money centers on the coasts.
The promises of prosperity never came to fruition. Instead, we outsourced our dignity. We stopped growing wealth where it mattered most, right here at home—and in that vacuum of broken promises—cynicism grew. Leaders turned their backs on the working people and in their absence, anger found a voice.

Jonathan Ford Orser was a devoted family man, public servant, and pillar of the NW Ohio community. Jon's life was shaped by service — from his time in the US Marine Corps, to his diplomatic pursuits in Africa, and his leadership as Mayor of Perrysburg. Jon never ceased working for the greater good.
Today we celebrate #Juneteenth. This pivotal day in our nation’s history reminds us all of the long fight for freedom, the progress made since, and the work still to be done to make good on our nation’s founding promise of life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all.
Celebrating a years long effort to improve another of our lake access points with local leaders and USACE Buffalo. The completion of repairs on the Vermilion Harbor West Pier represents a historic investment in our region’s infrastructure, and our people—East Pier repairs should conclude this fall.
The stakes for NW Ohio couldn’t be clearer. Nearly 30,000 people stand to lose care under the GOP’s brutal health care cuts—kids, workers, seniors. Rural hospitals—already hanging on by a thread—won’t survive this. These cuts won’t just close doors, it will cost lives—we need to save our hospitals!
Privileged to stand with Rossford Fire Department as they pinned 4 new full-time firefighters, bringing new heart to the city. Allison Robinson made history as the department's first full-time female firefighter. Their dedication embodies the spirit of public service, and NW Ohio is stronger for it.
