As the grandson of Holocaust survivors, Yom HaShoah is deeply personal. Today we mourn the 6 million Jewish men, women, and children murdered by the Nazis and commit to fighting hatred in all forms and ensuring the horrors of the Holocaust are never repeated.
To the men and women in uniform visiting Port Everglades for Fleet Week, welcome to Fort Lauderdale! We’re grateful for your service and your time this week showing Florida families the important work of our U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
Direct File has offered FL taxpayers an easier and more affordable option to file returns outside the pricey tax prep industry, and getting rid of that will make this process even more expensive and complicated.
I’m joining colleagues to call on officials to preserve this program.
Funding and staffing cuts at the National Weather Service are already threatening the safety of our communities.
I led 24 colleagues calling on officials to reinstate NWS employees, and I’m working in Congress now on a fix that’ll protect these programs from dangerous cuts.
Today’s terrorist attack on tourists in Kashmir is simply horrifying. My thoughts are with the victims’ loved ones as they mourn this tragedy, and I will continue to stand with the Indian people against the threat of terrorism.
🐾Some pawsitive news: I’m proud to share that I was named a Humane Champion by @humaneworldorg.bsky.social!
As Chair of the Congressional Dog Lover’s Caucus, I’m proud to be leading on animal protection legislation. #HumaneAwards
Happy Earth Day to everyone! From the Everglades to Florida’s pristine beaches, we have a state and planet blessed with natural beauty and biodiversity. Today and every day, we pledge to protect it for generations to come. 🌎
I had a great time this morning talking with pastors from Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach about the issues that matter most to their congregations. Thanks to Pastor McLamore for welcoming me into your church on this Easter Monday!
The National Flood Insurance Program expires in September. Congress needs to be proactive and extend this program so homeowners and businesses have certainty that the flood insurance policies they’ve paid into will be there when disaster strikes. floridapolitics.com/archives/733...
I join the world in grieving the loss of Pope Francis, a steadfast advocate for a more inclusive and peaceful world. May His Holiness rest in peace, and may we all strive to mirror his humility and empathy.
Happy Easter to everyone celebrating today!

The Marjory Stoneman Douglas Act I helped lead through the FL legislature raised our state’s age to buy a gun to 21. Without that bipartisan law, the 20-yr-old FSU shooter who stole his mom’s gun could’ve legally bought AR-15s, and this horrific tragedy could’ve been even worse.
I’m monitoring this horrible tragedy in Tallahassee. My thoughts are with those in the hospital, their families, and the FSU community during this time.
Students should be able to go to school without the threats of gun violence. This is why we passed the Marjory Stoneman Douglas School Safety Act.
In our district alone, USPS serves more than 400,000 addresses. That’s too important to take out of public hands.
As I told these Florida postal workers, I’m standing with them to protect the mail service our community depends on.
Sat down with Ambassador Banks from New Zealand last week to discuss all that ties our two nations together. New Zealand is one of our closest allies in the Pacific, and strengthening that relationship is good for our economy and good for our national security.
Chag Pesach Sameach to all those beginning their Passover celebrations tonight. Wishing you and your family a meaningful holiday!
Gutting NOAA while extreme weather intensifies and hurricane season approaches will put lives at risk. It’s a costly mistake.
My heart goes out to those who lost their lives in today’s tragic plane crash in Boca Raton, and their family and friends who will be forever impacted. I’m continuing to monitor the situation as we learn more and am grateful to the first responders who are on the scene.
Any family that’s had to face a cancer diagnosis knows just how important it is to have dedicated physicians by their side. A big thank you to these Florida oncologists for the care they provide to so many in our community.
