As a dad of two small kids, I could not imagine them experiencing what ICE has put innocent children through under the current administration. There must be accountability for agents who use excessive force, including those who unnecessarily deployed tear gas and pepper spray on children.
Small Businesses are having to cut jobs at an accelerating pace. Meanwhile big corporations are getting massive tax breaks. We need to repeal the tariffs, lower costs, and make the tax code work for the little guy - not just the powerful and well-connected.
It was great to attend Building Futures RI’s Women Building Rhode Island Program launch. In order to rebuild our country, we need more skilled people in the trades, and this new program will open the door to great careers for many Rhode Island women. @weareliuna.bsky.social
I convened my tourism, food, and hospitality advisory committee today to discuss the outlook for the summer season. The tariffs, increased energy costs, and decreased international tourism continue to be concerning, and I am committed to fighting back on behalf of this important RI industry.
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week! 🍎 Educators pour their hearts into the classroom every single day and they deserve to be properly appreciated, compensated, and supported. 📸 Throwback to my days teaching 4th grade!
This afternoon, I visited the IYRS School of Technology & Trades in Newport. This school trains people for good jobs in the maritime trades, and I am committed to supporting more programs to train skilled craftspeople for good careers.
