Gutting the CFPB and tanking a rule that keeps medical debt off credit scores is unacceptable.
I’m leading my colleagues in saying loud and clear: Protect this consumer watchdog & protect RIers from the crippling weight of medical debt.
Trump/Musk have gutted the USDA – & RIers are paying the price.
I sat down with fired USDA workers based in RI to discuss how RI farmers & small businesses are going to bear the brunt of service interruptions.
This won’t lower the cost of food - in fact, it'll do the opposite.
Closing the Department of Education would devastate Rhode Island’s schools.
Fewer teachers, overcrowded classrooms, slashed programs, and weaker career training—hurting students and our future workforce.
We must fight back.

100 souls were lost 22 years ago today in the Station Nightclub fire—a horrific tragedy that left a mark on West Warwick and Rhode Island.
We honor the victims & first responders who ran into danger. In the ashes, the strength of our state shines through.
Trump’s plan for the U.S. to take control of Gaza is reckless and immoral. We cannot risk US lives on yet another nation building exercise, especially one that would mean the forced displacement of millions of people.
I am joining 144 of my colleagues to stand in opposition.

Today I visited the talented researchers at Rhode Island Hospital working to cure cancer, Alzheimer’s, and other deadly diseases. But Trump & Musk want to slash NIH funding, putting their work at risk.
We can’t let that happen—the stakes are too high.
Need help with a federal agency? We’ve got your back.
Just ask Remmy from Warwick—after months of IRS delays, we helped him secure the tax refund he was owed.
From tax issues to veterans’ benefits, we’re here to help. Call us at (401) 244-1201.
Shameful that an American President is siding with bloodthirsty dictator Putin over democratic ally Ukraine. Trump siding with Putin makes the whole world, including America, less safe.
Visited Shalom Apartments in Warwick today to discuss ways we can lower costs, protect social security and ensure safety for all Rhode Islanders.
Item #178 That Won’t Lower Costs…
🚨 Pardoning January 6th Offenders.
Prices are still too high, but what is Trump’s priority? Pardoning criminals who attacked police officers.
Had a productive discussion in my Rhode Island office with Ambassador Kevin Rudd on the importance of the U.S.-Australia relationship.
The partnership between our nations is key to advancing global security, trade, and a strong economy.
Item #322 That Won’t Lower Costs…
🎭 Making Yourself Chair of the Kennedy Center.
While Trump grabs fancy titles, families are struggling to afford groceries and gas. Maybe try tackling the problems people asked you to solve?
Honoring the leaders who shaped our nation today on Presidents’ Day.
Their vision, resilience, and dedication to democracy continue to inspire the work we do for a stronger future.
🚨 JUST wrapped an urgent press conference on Trump & Musk’s plan to gut the Department of Education.
Fewer teachers. Bigger classes. Less funding for RI schools. Unacceptable.
The richest people in the world cannot be allowed to cut education to pay for their tax cuts.
Louder for the people in the back: Members of Congress shouldn’t be trading stocks—period.
My Trust in Congress Act will ban it once and for all. Let’s get it passed.
Good jobs don’t have to require a four-year degree.
CTE programs provide cost-effective pathways to high-paying careers for Rhode Islanders.
That’s why I’m joining this bipartisan resolution to support #CTEMonth and strengthen workforce training nationwide.
Item #457 That Won’t Lower Costs…
🌊 Renaming the Gulf of Mexico.
Prices keep rising, and Trump’s obsessed with names on a map? Maybe focus on bringing costs down instead of chasing distractions.
Firing essential federal workers for no reason means longer Social Security wait times, weaker food safety, and worse healthcare for veterans.
This isn’t cutting waste—it’s stiffing working people to pay for a tax for billionaires. It’s wrong.
Today Trump and Musk fired:
1,000 at the Veterans Administration, which manages hospitals that serve vets
3000 at US Forest Service who work to prevent wildfires
300 (16% of total) at NNSA which manages nuclear weapons stockpile
Dangerous. Reckless. Wrong.
