On Friday, I met with AFGE Local 1102, a union representing FDC SeaTac prison workers to hear about supporting them after the Trump administration’s attack on federal workers. I’m here to work with you to support staffing, safe workplace conditions, and fair wages for those in your union.

Violence is never acceptable. Period.
I toured the Schilling Cider Facility in Auburn, the largest producer of fresh-pressed hard cider in the country. It was great to see your facility and hear about the work in the local agriculture industry.
President Trump's reckless tariffs are only adding to the cost of living crisis, with expected tariffs on pharmaceutical products already raising insurance prices and projected to raise hospital costs by 15%.
Health insurance costs are expected to see the largest jump in five years, and the 24 million Affordable Care Act enrollees could see prices rise by over 75% in 2026 if Republicans refuse to extend crucial premium tax credits.
To provide the best and safest care, all Washingtonians need access to reliable information on reproductive health, vaccines, opioid use, and more when making medical decisions. I’m grateful that this data has been ordered to be returned to health professionals across the country.
I’ve been supporting Attorney General Nick Brown and his lawsuits against the illegal actions of the Trump administration, and I support the recent ruling that over 100 health and science webpages must be restored.
President Trump is raising costs for everyday Americans.
Higher bills are coming all thanks to President Trump's illegal, reckless tariffs.
"This year’s escalation in tariff rates is expected to cost American households an average of $2,400 per year, according to estimates from the Budget Lab at Yale University."
My thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those we lost, as we will never forget what took place on American soil 24 years ago.
Today, we remember the thousands of innocent lives lost during the tragic events of September 11, and we honor the heroic first responders who risked their lives to help others.

“For over 60 years, the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act has served as the foundation for our national security priorities and demonstrated Congress’s obligation to provide for the common defense. ...
The attack on Charlie Kirk today is horrifying and revolting. We must never accept political violence as normal in the United States. My thoughts are with Mr. Kirk and his loved ones.

"Trump showing weakness ... rolling out the red carpet for Putin, has only made the war worse. ... You want to stop the war, back the 53 nation coalition supporting Ukraine and making it clear to Putin he's not going to win. That forces him to the peace table."

Over 50 million American adults are navigating mental health and addiction recovery. As we recognize National Recovery Month this September, I want to remind everyone that support services are available. If you or someone you know is seeking help, visit FindSupport.gov.

"The transgender community has been targeted & discriminated against aggressively. ... None of these amndts are remotely necessary. They're an effort to take advantage of a culture war partisan issue to drive a wedge into this bill."

I have introduced legislation aimed at lowering the cost of affordable housing, developing new units, and creating easier pathways for people to purchase single-family homes.
Affordable housing units are empty because the cost of rent can surpass the current market rate. Seattle and King County continue to be among the most expensive places to live in the country, making these affordable housing apartments essential for those who want to live and work in our community.

"Politicization of the military (is) undermining our constitutional democracy. ... We need to exercise oversight of that. We had a number of amendments that would have at least given this chamber the opportunity to debate ... they were all silenced."

"The process we went through in committee was a model for how to legislate on the National Defense Authorization Act in bipartisan fashion. ... Leadership decided to make this a partisan exercise instead."
