Great to sit in on the 5th Annual Sustainable Business Policy Forum, a truly collaborative space to discuss how public policy can support clean energy, sustainable supply chains, and responsible innovation. It’s incredible to see the West Michigan spirit of innovation in the green business space!
As a @transportdems.bsky.social member, I was proud to review West Michigan’s freight rail operations up close with the Michigan Railroads Assoc. I’m committed to supporting our local transportation employees, and securing the crucial investments they need to continue their important work.
The first day of school is right around the corner, West Michigan, and there are many great opportunities to receive school supplies if your family is in need of them. Check out some happening in our community here! wwmt.com/news/local/l...
It’s an honor to help send young West Michiganders off to our nation’s service academies every year, and my office is now accepting applications for 2025 Service Academy Nominations.

60 years ago, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was signed into law. Our work to defend voting rights is not over: Democrats will continue to work to protect and expand access to the ballot box for all Americans.
I’m devastated to learn of the shooting at Georgia’s Fort Stewart Army Base, and I’m praying for the brave service members who are injured. www.npr.org/2025/08/06/n...
Team Scholten had a great time with the West Michigan community and local law enforcement officials at last night’s #NationalNightOut!

No one does it like our Coasties, and for 235 years, they’ve been keeping our shores and waters safe. Happy Birthday, USCG! #SemperParatus ⚓️
American companies and consumers deserve clarity and continuity, not chaos and jacked-up costs.
After failing to strike 90 trade deals in 90 days — as was promised — the President is doubling down on his reckless trade policy by imposing heightened tariff rates on nearly 70 countries. This includes an increased tariff of 35% on Canada, Michigan’s largest trading partner.
While President Trump unleashes chaos on our economy, rips health care away from millions, and raises taxes on the middle class, he’s rewarding himself with a new, gigantic $200 MILLION ballroom in the White House.
I always find myself SO impressed with West Michigan’s young, bright students, and these two are no exception! Congratulations on such a successful and powerful short film, Caleb and Daniel, keep dreaming big and achieving great things!

Our economy is stagnating under President Trump’s chaotic economic policies, including his reckless trade war. Now is the time to invest in American workers and deepen partnerships, not wreak havoc on our domestic and global economic order.

I wrote a letter calling for FHIP to be fully funded, and I am proud to see that the FHIP program funding has been restored at the levels I called for. Americans everywhere deserve to be free from housing discrimination.
