The firing of many Bonneville Power workers puts the reliability of our electric grid at risk, and it doesn’t “save” the federal government money because it’s funded by ratepayers.
I always appreciate hearing from the people I represent and your voices help inform my work in Congress. Thanks to the many Oregonians who joined me for my Washington County town hall meeting!
Columbia County: I am holding a town hall meeting at Clatskanie Middle & High School this evening. Please avoid bringing large bags and backpacks to the event. I look forward to hearing from you and answering your questions.
This Presidents’ Day I encourage you to read our nation’s founding documents. History has many lessons that can inform how we address the issues we face today.

Meanwhile, my House GOP colleagues are considering steep cuts to essential services and programs like Medicaid to pay for a new round of tax cuts that will benefit the wealthy.
Unelected billionaire Elon Musk is laying off people at the IRS, meaning that rich people like him will more easily get out of paying their fair share.

The sun is shining and temps are warming, so the thaw is coming. You can help make sidewalks passible faster by shoveling them. This helps neighbors walk to the nearest bus stop and generally makes it easier for everybody to get around - postal workers, neighbors, pets...everyone

If you need to drive, use caution on snow or ice and give plows extra space. Please do not pass County snow plows and avoid abandoning your vehicles. They can become obstacles for crews which delays clearing roads & can potentially cause unnecessary closures.
The new administration has been in office for less than a month and already we’re seeing extreme attacks on public education. On behalf of millions of students across the country, I hope all of my colleagues will oppose attempts to defund public schools.
