Our communities are not safer. They are more fearful as federal agents operating under ICE and the Department of Homeland Security are being deployed without the training, oversight, or respect for civil rights that real public safety demands.
Today’s news out of Minneapolis is another absolutely horrifying reminder of this administration’s lawlessness and lack of accountability. Once again, the excessive use of force by federal agents has resulted in the innocent loss of life on our streets.
I stand with women in this country to protect reproductive freedom, safeguard public health, and ensure access to affordable, high-quality care. House Democrats will not allow extremist Republican policies to endanger lives, dismantle women’s rights, or weaken the freedoms Americans depend on.
Donald Trump promised to “rapidly bring down costs.” Last week, he claimed “inflation is defeated.” Working families know that’s not true. In fact, a new report from Joint Economic Committee shows California families paid $2,355 more in Trump’s first year in office because of inflation.
House Republicans are advancing Donald Trump’s anti-choice agenda by censoring medically accurate information, stigmatizing abortion care, and inserting politics and extremist ideology into the most personal health care decisions a person can make.
