The American people deserve a president who will address these questions head-on and put forward a real plan to deal with them.
That is not what we saw last night.
Meanwhile, people here in Sacramento County are asking a different set of questions:
How do we bring down the cost of groceries, gas, rent, and health care?
How do we make ends meet as this war drives up costs here at home?
President Trump’s speech last night left the American people with more questions than answers.
We still do not know what the endgame is.
There was no clear articulation of the “imminent” threat posed by Iran to the homeland and he failed to lay out a credible plan for what comes next.
Chag Pesach Sameach to all those celebrating Passover in Sacramento County and around the world!
As a longtime champion of NASA’s Space Launch System and Artemis program, I’m thrilled to see this successful launch.
This is a remarkable moment for American innovation, scientific progress, and the future of human space exploration. 🇺🇸
Last week, I called on Trump to go on national TV and explain why he’s asking Congress for $200 billion to fund the war in Iran while American families can’t afford to cover their basic expenses.
I will be watching tonight to see what the president says.
Trump’s latest attack on mail-in voting is yet another act of desperation from someone on the verge of losing power.
We will continue fighting in court to stop this blatant attempt to keep Americans from the ballot box.

On Farmworkers Day, we honor the hardworking men & women who help feed our nation & keep California’s agricultural economy strong.
The farmworker movement has always been bigger than any one person, & today we reaffirm our commitment to fighting for dignity, safety, & fair treatment on the job.

Putting American boots on the ground in Iran would not only result in significant casualties, but would mark a major escalation that risks indefinitely extending this ill-defined war.
The American people do not want this.

The Speaker does not need Trump’s permission to take up the Senate’s bipartisan bill to fund the TSA, Coast Guard, FEMA, and our cybersecurity professionals.
His failure to act is irresponsible.
Trump and Johnson own this shutdown and the chaos it has unleashed on the public.
As the cost of living continues to rise, food banks play an essential role in helping families afford food and keep up with other basic expenses.
I’m grateful to the River City Food Bank team, volunteers, and community partners for their work to help keep Sacramento families well-fed and supported.
I recently visited River City Food Bank in Sacramento to see firsthand the vital work they are doing for families across Sacramento County.
In 2025 alone, River City Food Bank provided nearly 3.2 million pounds of food to more than 320,000 people in Sacramento County.
We are nearly one month into this war and we still do not have clear answers from this Administration about why we are at war with Iran.
I joined @houseforeign.bsky.social in voting to subpoena Sec. Rubio, Witkoff, and Kushner to appear before our committee and answer to the American people.
As co-chair of the Tuberculosis Elimination Caucus, I am proud to lead more than 130 Members of Congress in a bipartisan effort to fund programs that detect, treat, and ultimately eradicate TB at home and abroad.
On World Tuberculosis Day, we’re reminded that TB is preventable, treatable, and curable, yet it still claims far too many lives.
My office will continue to follow this case and press for answers.
How ICE conducted itself in this incident adds to a growing list of reasons why this agency is out of control under this Administration and must be reined in.
The American people expect law enforcement to act with professionalism, restraint, and respect for basic human dignity.
I’m deeply disturbed by the video of a Sacramento mother being arrested by ICE at San Francisco International Airport in front of her daughter.
No child should have to see a parent taken away like that, and no family should be subjected to this treatment.
