How ICE conducted itself in this incident adds to a growing list of reasons why this agency is out of control under this Administration and must be reined in. The American people expect law enforcement to act with professionalism, restraint, and respect for basic human dignity.
I’m deeply disturbed by the video of a Sacramento mother being arrested by ICE at San Francisco International Airport in front of her daughter. No child should have to see a parent taken away like that, and no family should be subjected to this treatment.
Taiwan’s success as a vibrant democracy and critical partner in the Indo-Pacific stands as an example to the world. I look forward to continuing to lead bipartisan efforts in Congress to support Taiwan’s security, prosperity, and meaningful participation on the world stage.
Congratulations to the people of Taiwan on 30 years of democratic presidential elections! This milestone is a testament to the strength of Taiwan’s democratic institutions, the rule of law, and the will of its people.
But because President Trump and Congressional Republicans refuse to restore ACA subsidies, millions of Americans are facing skyrocketing premiums, and far too many are being priced out of coverage altogether.
For 16 years, the Affordable Care Act has helped millions of Americans access health care and avoid devastating medical bills. As a doctor, I’ve seen firsthand what that peace of mind means for families.

Thank you to Sacramento County Supervisor Rich Desmond, Friends of Sailor Bar, the American River Bike Patrol, and Sacramento County Regional Parks for their partnership and for helping make this day possible.
It was also wonderful to celebrate the dedication of 12 new benches and 7 new tables at Sailor Bar Park, creating even more space for families, friends, and neighbors to gather and enjoy the outdoors.
Whether that means spending time with family, enjoying one of our parks, serving our community, or simply being present with the people around you, that connection matters.
At a time when so much of what we see across the country feels heavy and discouraging, Day of Play is a reminder to put our devices down, get outside, and reconnect with one another.
It was great to be at Sailor Bar Park in Fair Oaks this morning with families, neighbors, and local leaders celebrating Sacramento County’s Day of Play and the effort I’m leading in Congress to establish a National Day of Play.
To all those celebrating Eid al-Fitr in Sacramento County, Eid Mubarak! 🌙 May this joyful occasion bring peace and many blessings to you and your loved ones.
As Director Gabbard testifies before the House Intelligence Committee, I want to remind her of her own words from 2020 warning about the consequences of war with Iran.
We also discussed the importance of ensuring Tahoe has the tools and support it needs to manage growth responsibly and remain accessible for future generations.
Lake Tahoe is one of our nation’s great treasures, and preserving it requires a thoughtful approach that balances environmental stewardship, public safety, housing, transportation, and tourism.
I enjoyed meeting with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency to discuss how we can protect Lake Tahoe’s natural beauty while supporting the communities and local economy that depend on it.
It is longstanding policy under the Six Assurances that the U.S. does not consult with Beijing on arms sales to Taiwan. During today’s hearing, I pressed Trump administration officials and got them to confirm that they were not aware of any effort to alter U.S. commitments under the Six Assurances.
