@booker.senate.gov just finished his historic speech challenging us to acknowledge this moral moment. He told us to remember that, “The power of the people is greater than the people in power.” He told us to continue to make GOOD TROUBLE.
Today, I introduced the Deschutes River Conservancy Reauthorization Act to allow the DRC access to federal funding so they can restore our rivers. Support for the DRC benefits our economy, our health, and our environment. I'm glad to team up with Senator Merkley to get it done.
Headed over to the Senate side this morning to cheer on @booker.senate.gov during his FIFTEENTH straight hour speaking on behalf of the American people. This energy 👏👏
Every week, my flight to DC is full of constituents coming to our office to ask us to protect their benefits, lower costs, and fight for funding to improve the lives of Oregonians. I hear you and I’ll always fight for you.
I’m excited to host my third, open-to-all town hall next weekend with Senator Jeff Merkley! The two of us will be at Sisters High School in Deschutes County at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 5 – come out and join us!
Word is Bond brought a proposal to address Black youth mental health to our meeting – safe to say I was impressed. These young men are tackling a key issue for our community and the organization is empowering them to make meaningful change. I couldn't be prouder – keep it up!
Hundreds of thousands of workers woke up this morning to the news that Trump stripped them of their rights overnight. This is textbook union busting. To our workers: I'm in this fight with you – we won't be silenced, and we won't back down.
Stripping collective bargaining and union rights from workers across the federal government is the very definition of union busting — and a blatant attempt to silence us. We will fight this outrageous attack on our members with every fiber of our collective being.
Screenshot of the AFL-CIO's statement condemning the Trump administration's executive order stripping collective bargaining and union rights from workers across the federal government.
Of all the reasons to be running late to a meeting, I hope giving a floor speech is more acceptable than others. Thanks for tuning in while you waited, President Naganathan, and for your work to set Oregon Tech students up for success on campus!
The Department of Emergency Management plays a key role in keeping Oregonians feeling safe and secure at home. Thank you for keeping your cool in the chaos and helping the rest of us do the same!
When someone shows you who they are, believe them. The unqualified, self-serving, and lying rejects Trump picked to run this country are showing us they can't do anything right. Someone F’d up. And someone’s gotta go down for it.
Trump is like that middle school parent who found out the hard way that there are those of us who have been all up in our kids’ group chats since day one. Sir – go ahead and make them share your iCloud acct or get Life360. And set the alerts. This doesn’t have to be hard.
The Atlantic on Wednesday published a transcript of top Trump administration officials’ group chat this month discussing an imminent U.S. attack on Houthi militants in Yemen.
A woman makes 84 cents for every dollar a man makes. For a Black woman, it's 66 cents. That's BS. It's LONG past time we get equal pay for equal work. That's why this Equal Pay Day I'm supporting the Paycheck Fairness Act. No more keeping us down.
I have yet to have the chance to vote on a single piece of legislation to lower costs. So I introduced my own – The Protecting Families From Inflation Act. This administration needs to stop the gaslighting. Let’s get to work.
Trump promised to end inflation "on Day 1,” but I see prices going up, not down 🤔 When I say something is my priority, I actually mean it. Today, I introduced the Protecting Families From Inflation Act with @liccardo.house.gov and Rep. Cleo Fields to fight Trump's taxes and lower costs.
