Marines are finally being pulled from Los Angeles after weeks of their services being wasted. Our servicemembers deserve better than to be used as props. The deployment never made sense, it was political theater from the start.
Marines ending Los Angeles deployment, Pentagon says reut.rs/4f4xNmT
Tonight, I stood with members of the California Delegation to honor the lives of Joshua Kelley-Eklund, Victor Lemus, and William Osborn, 3 courageous detectives who tragically lost their lives in Monterey Park this past Friday. My thoughts are with their families, colleagues, & all who loved them.

We’re facing some of the hottest temperatures on record this summer and it’s absolutely unacceptable that American workers have no legal protection against excessive heat. I’m proud to join @chu.house.gov in introducing a bill to create a federal standard to keep workers safe & healthy on the job.
🚀🌕 On this day in 1969, the world watched in awe as humans walked on the Moon for the first time. That moment was made possible by early lunar missions from @nasajpl.bsky.social & @caltech.edu right in Pasadena! The journey is far from over as we look to make more incredible discoveries.
House Republicans just gave Trump the green light to slash billions from programs like public broadcasting & international disaster assistance, all to fund massive tax breaks for billionaires. He’s not fixing the cost-of-living crisis, he’s making it worse to pay for handouts to the ultra-wealthy.
1,000s of low-income seniors have been furloughed & entire communities are losing vital services because the Trump Admin has delayed the release of critical job training funds already approved by Congress. @jayapal.house.gov & I sent a letter demanding answers & the immediate release of funding.
The Social Security Administration quietly removed key customer service metrics from its public website—while cutting 7,000 staff & delaying services. Today, I sent a letter with my @WaysMeansCmte colleagues demanding SSA restore these metrics. The public deserves transparency.
Public media like PBS and NPR reaches 99% of the country with trusted news, education, arts, and emergency alerts, even in areas without internet access. As disasters grow more frequent, we need it now more than ever. I support and I stand with public broadcasting.
Last night, I stood with our community to honor the 18 lives we tragically lost in the Eaton Fire. January 7th was a night of unimaginable loss for so many of our friends and neighbors. But in the 6 months since, survivors have shown incredible resiliency during each step of the rebuilding process.
It was great to see so many new and familiar faces at the parades in Claremont, Sierra Madre, and San Marino as we came together to celebrate our country’s Independence Day this past weekend.
Happy 4th of July! Today, as we mark our nation’s 249th birthday, let’s remember our commitment to the true promise of America: liberty and justice for all.
Republicans just voted to gut health care for 17 million people. Kids & veterans will go hungry, and the ultra-rich will rake in $300K a year in tax breaks, all while the poorest pay more. It’s devastating. This is Trump’s legacy. To read more visit: chu.house.gov/media-center...
We only need 4 Republicans to vote no. If you love California like I do, make your voice heard.
