When President Biden took office, the country was in the midst of a once-in-a-century pandemic and had just experienced the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.
Under President Biden's leadership, the country united as Americans and made extraordinary progress. 🧵

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is helping connect Solvang, Buellton, and the Santa Ynez Chumash reservation with a $1.4 million grant!
Thanks to my work alongside the Biden-Harris Admin., we are revitalizing our infrastructure and improving the lives of Central Coast residents.
I want to commend the American diplomats - including the tireless work of Secretary Blinken and President Biden - that have worked to secure this overdue accord.
This deal, once finalized, will save countless innocent lives of Israelis and Palestinians alike.
I'm encouraged at reports of a ceasefire deal in Gaza.
This agreement will be critical to returning every remaining hostage being held by Hamas, ramping up humanitarian food & medicinal aid, and creating a realistic pathway to lasting peace and long-term stability. 🧵
Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure law, more than 85,000 projects are underway all across America.
But we’re not stopping there. Tune in to learn how @transportdems.bsky.social are fighting for further investments. ⬇️
Cost of living.
Housing.
Helping our first responders.
These are the things I was sent here to work on and have been fighting to make progress on.
Two weeks into the new year, and it seems all Congress is interested in is more culture wars...
As a dad, I'm all for fairness in women's sports.
But Congress isn't a school district. It's not the NCAA.
A one-size-fits-all federal bill (a badly written one too) is not the solution, and will only lead to more fear, bullying, and potential abuse of millions of young girls.
Bird flu has spiked egg prices 70%.
90,000+ Americans are enduring one of the costliest natural disasters in history.
But instead, Republicans have Congress debating a bill so badly written it makes every young girl in America subject to invasive exams to 'prove' her gender.
Imagine if a hurricane was actively hitting & Dems said families affected might not get our help.
That's what Republicans are suggesting for fires STILL BURNING in California.
There's always reflection on policies after a disaster.
But we never hold aid for Americans hostage.
Starting this month, out-of-pocket prescription costs for seniors are capped at $2k/year!
Older Americans shouldn't be forced to choose between their medicine and their groceries. That's why I fought for this cap through our Inflation Reduction Act. 💊🩺
Grateful to the quick work of our first responders overnight stopping the spread of the Auto Fire in the Santa Clara Riverbed.
This is a reminder that with these high winds, fire danger is EXTREMELY HIGH. Be vigilant and avoid anything that could spark a fire.
Happy Korean American Day!
Today, we commemorate the arrival of the first Korean immigrants to the United States in 1903 and honor the vast and immeasurable contributions of Korean Americans to our nation.
🚨 Extreme winds are expected through Wednesday in parts of the Central Coast — increasing wildfire risk.
Please stay prepared and follow your county's emergency alerts & evacuation notices.

House Republican leadership's first move of the new Congress? Fast-tracking bills to continue their culture wars.
No bills to tackle housing shortages.
No bills to cut grocery bills.
No bills to lower your cost of living.
Thank you to all first responders who have been working around the clock to contain these fires and protect Californians — your bravery does not go unnoticed.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law just delivered $1.4 million to improve Santa Ynez Valley interconnectivity.
Learn how this grant will better connect Solvang, Buellton, and the Santa Ynez Chumash reservation. ⬇️
President Biden has now designated 600k+ acres just south of Joshua Tree National Park as the Chuckwalla National Monument. ⛰️🎉
I was proud to fight for this effort — & even prouder to see that President Biden has now conserved more lands and waters than any President in history!
With the #SocialSecurityFairnessAct officially signed into law, we are finally restoring the rightful retirement benefits for our dedicated former school teachers, public employees, & first responders.
Proud to help get this effort across the finish line. ⤵️
I am just about to head to the National Cathedral to pay my respects to President Jimmy Carter.
As I do, I'm reflecting on his legacy as perhaps one of the greatest environmental champions to ever sit in the Oval Office.
