Undocumented people who are convicted already face jail time, and often, deportation.
Today’s Republican bill mandates that immigrants merely ACCUSED of a crime — like shoplifting — be locked up with no due process.

About to be sworn into Congress again — it's time to fight back for working people!
ICYMI: My first term in Congress is almost over!
I drew some of our team’s biggest achievements & favorite memories from the past two years! 🖌️👇🏽
Happy New Year, #TX35!
2024 may be over, but the fight to build a government that works for working people continues. I hope everyone has a safe and happy 2025!
WATCH: My first term in Congress is almost over!
They say a picture’s worth a thousand words… So I decided to draw some of our team’s biggest achievements & favorite memories from the past two years! 🖌️
Happy holidays, #TX35!
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and safe holiday season. ⭐
I’m so grateful for the people of TX-35. Our fight to build a government that works for working people continues in the 119th Congress 💪🏽

My first term in Congress flew by — but don’t worry, I took notes! ✏️📓

Elon Musk ordered that we shut down the government, shut down family farms, shut down disaster relief programs, and pave the way for Trump to pass a billionaire tax break.
We didn’t let him.
Elon Musk’s War on Christmas & government shutdown means:
🌽 No disaster relief for farmers
🇺🇲 No paychecks for our troops
✈️ TSA agents working without pay
🍼 Childcare centers closed
Musk has ordered Republicans to ruin the holidays for working people. Total Grinch behavior.
Musk has ordered Trump & Republicans to end disaster relief funding, keep childcare centers closed, and shut down government services for farmers, veterans, and retirees.
None of this matters to the richest man in the world. But it should matter to us.

American YouthWorks is receiving a $1.5 MILLION Department of Labor YouthBuild grant!
For 30+ years, this program has helped Austin students get great educations & build bright careers.
Thanks to the Department of Labor for investing in our future by investing in young Texans! 💪🏽
Today, I'm leading 20 Members of Congress to demand that the Biden Admin withhold offensive weapons from the Israeli military.
U.S. law is clear: if the Netanyahu government does not allow sufficient food & medicine to enter Gaza, then the U.S. cannot send weapons.
The FTC just finalized a ban on "junk fees" — those mysterious, unavoidable charges that only show up when checking out.
Thanks to Lina Khan, Americans will save billions of dollars on live event tickets, hotels, vacation rentals, & more! 💰
The Equal Rights Amendment has met all the requirements to become the 28th Amendment. All it takes is one stroke of President Biden’s pen.
I’m joining 121 of my colleagues in urging President Biden to #PublishTheERA & protect gender equality in the Constitution!
Abbott’s priority isn’t making Texas hospitals better. He’s more concerned about making immigrants afraid to go to the hospital.
House Republicans don’t care about our Census being accurate. Their priority is making immigrants afraid to answer the Census.
A mega-merger of Kroger and Albertsons would lay off workers and spike grocery prices.
Lina Khan and the FTC fought to stop the merger and WON!
Democrats must stand up to special interests and corporate greed.

The Progressive Caucus will chart a new path for Democrats by taking on the billionaires, bullies, & liars.
It’s simple: Congress MUST cut ties to special interests and boldly fight for working people.
