We had bipartisan agreement at the end of the year that would have addressed disparities in maternal care, increased funding for diabetes programs, and improved health care for millions of Americans.
Then Elon Musk killed it. Why won’t Republicans let us pass it now?
When he accepted the Republican nomination for president, Donald Trump said “we’re going to get the cure for cancer.”
Now, because of him, Elon Musk, and RFK Jr., groundbreaking cures are being pushed farther away. That’s not making America healthy again.
I have supported legislation to expand access to obesity drugs in Medicare. It’s a shame that Donald Trump and RFK Jr. are blocking our efforts.
President Biden helped Americans with Medicare get access to breakthrough drugs to fight obesity. Trump is taking away that hope.
This is not just an affordability issue – it will rob millions of Americans of a healthier life.
Special thanks to South High School for hosting us (Go Ravens!), Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser for joining the conversation, and the JROTC and Girl Scouts for helping make the event a success!
Catch the full Town Hall here. ⬇️
Thank you to everyone who joined our town hall—hearing directly from Denverites about what matters most to you and addressing your concerns remains my top priority.
I’m hosting a town hall in Denver! Watch live. ⬇️
So far, we’ve had success blocking Trump’s illegal cuts in court, but lawmakers play a role too.
Congress—not Donald Trump—holds the power of the purse.
I signed onto an amicus brief this week to stop Trump’s unconstitutional assault on USAID.
For nearly 40 years, USAID has uplifted our international allies, countered adversaries, and prevented crises.
Trump can’t singlehandedly eliminate this agency just because Elon wants him to.
The massive cuts at HHS, directed by Elon Musk & DOGE, are illegal & will cause the most harm to public health I've seen throughout my time in Congress.
As the top Democrat on the Health Subcommittee, I'm demanding Secretary Kennedy appear at a hearing immediately to explain his careless cuts.
Secretary Kennedy must testify before our committee in person as soon as possible to explain his actions and how the American people will be impacted by these extreme cuts.
At the direction of Elon & DOGE, RFK Jr. is illegally slashing funding for cancer research, disease prevention, and pandemic preparedness, and he’s sending his STAFF to brief the Energy and Commerce Committee?
Hardworking Americans will not be ‘liberated’ by these drastic actions.
Trump imposing reckless tariffs on other countries means working families will pay even more for the goods they need.
As Senator Booker said yesterday, “What does ‘Liberation Day’ mean to the people who are shackled to debt?”
Denverites and families across the country want Trump to lower costs for them. Not big corporations & billionaires.
America’s biomedical research is the gold standard for the world, but the Trump Admin has jeopardized this.
Glad to join @Politico.com's Health Care Summit today to discuss the devastating impacts of Trump, Elon, & RFK Jr.’s illegal attacks on HHS & their threat to life-saving research.
Recalibrating? This is dismantling.
Secretary Kennedy is twisting himself into a pretzel trying to justify gutting the agency that protects Americans’ health and leads lifesaving research.
No amount of mental gymnastics can hide the truth: this is an attack on science and public health.
Democrats are fighting back against Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s extreme cuts.
If they won’t answer to Congress for their illegal actions, our GOP colleagues will.
Today’s hearing was just the start – I won’t keep quiet as DOGE & RFK Jr. dismantle HHS & jeopardize public health.
Proud to support @booker.senate.gov on the Senate Floor as he speaks out against Trump's reckless economic policies & health care cuts.
He's been speaking for nearly 24 hours (almost setting a new record), ensuring that the American people hear us loud and clear—we stand with YOU.
🚨 23 states + DC are suing to stop Trump and Elon from slashing billions in HHS funding—cuts that would reverse our progress on disease prevention and cure research.
Once again, the Courts are stepping in to protect the American people and our public health from Trump's extreme agenda.

In Trump’s America, it does not matter how many people get hurt as long as his extremist agenda moves ahead.
When they come for your health care, we fight back harder.
