I voted to raise the minimum wage when I was in the PA Legislature and proudly continue to support this fight in Congress as a co-sponsor of the #RaiseTheWage Act!

Today I was happy to speak with WesGold Fellows about my work as a member of Congress and the importance of being politically engaged and saving for their future!
These hard-working students continue to inspire me and I’m proud to represent many of them in Congress!
This has always been Trump covering up for Trump.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social will keep pressing for release of the Epstein files - House Republicans should stop protecting Trump!

Another sure sign that the fix is in.
Ghislaine Maxwell's attorney, David Oscar Markus on X:
"We are grateful to President Trump for his commitment to uncovering the truth in this case."
And says they're already in discussions with the administration.

CNN: Would you ever use subpoena power to try to find out more info about Epstein?
JASON SMITH: That's not a common thing I've utilized within the Ways and Means Committee

Philadelphia Youth Basketball is more than just basketball— it provides life-changing opportunities for kids across Philly.
I proudly secured $1 million in federal funding for the Alan Horwitz ‘Sixth Man’ Center. Today, I caught up with Kenny Holdsman about how they continue to serve our community.
We could be working to keep the government open past Oct. 1 or extend expiring ACA credits - as more than 150,000 Pennsylvanians are at risk of losing their Pennie coverage - but House Republicans are so scared of releasing the Epstein files, they would rather just go home.
After Hahnemann Hospital closed, we saw the devastating ripple effects through Philly.
As Trump's new #ReverseRobinHood budget law slashes Medicaid funding, hospitals in Philly- and across PA - will lose millions and be at risk of closure - costing our communities jobs & health care services.
And please know that the fight to restore the 988 LGBTQ service is not over!
To learn more about Trump’s closure of the 988 LGBTQ+ service, check out this story from KYW Newsradio:
Trump’s closure of 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline’s LGBTQ+ service is unconscionable and shameful.
If you or someone you know needs support, you can still access resources through the Trevor Project, Trans Lifeline, & LGBT National Hotline ⬇️
A reminder- it’s you, the American consumer, who pays the price for Trump’s reckless tariffs.
It’s shameful. Congress should be fighting for the needs of everyday Americans, not protecting the interests of billionaires by implementing Project 2025. (3/3)
Last night, while most of America was sleeping, the House GOP slashed funding for PBS, NPR, and local tv & radio stations, and life-saving global health programs and peacekeeping efforts, rubberstamping DOGE’s illegal cuts. (2/3)
Just two weeks after gutting health care coverage for millions, Congressional Republicans are, once again, abandoning hard-working Americans to roll over for Trump. (1/3)

On the 5th anniversary of the passing of John Lewis, my friend, colleague, and personal hero, I’m reminded of some of his final words- “When you see something that is not right, you must say something. You must do something. Democracy is not a state. It is an act.”
