Please note that this town hall will be first come, first served, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. CT. We will also be livestreaming this event right here on Facebook.
As the 11th District spans eight different counties, my office will be scheduling more in-person town halls in different parts of the district over the coming weeks and months. (2/2)
UPDATE: With the number of folks registered, we have already exceeded the 600 person capacity for the event space. Please note that this town hall will be first come, first served, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. CT. We will also make every effort to livestream this event on my Facebook page. (1/2)
I’m saddened to learn of the passing of Congressman Raúl Grijalva. In Congress, he was a strong voice for protecting the environment and a tireless advocate for his constituents in Arizona. He will be deeply missed.
Trump's reckless tariffs would cost the average American family an estimated $1,600 - $2,000 per year, with working class families being hit the hardest.
There are no winners in a trade war—only those who will bear the burden of higher costs, lost jobs, and economic instability.
Investing in our schools means investing in America's future. My Democratic colleagues and I will keep fighting to ensure every student has access to a high-quality education.
Firing half of the Department of Education's workforce is the first step in gutting the resources that our students rely on, from support for low-income and rural schools to special education programs.
Mark your calendars! Next Tuesday, March 18, I'll be hosting an in-person town hall at Benedictine University's Goodwin Hall Auditorium at 7:00 PM. For more information and to register, visit foster.house.gov/townhall.
Calling all IL-11 high school students! The deadline to submit artwork for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition is April 18.
For more information, visit foster.house.gov/artcompetition. I can't wait to see your creativity!
I just voted against Republican's disastrous CR, which reduces access to Social Security, reduces funding for veterans’ health care, slashes infrastructure investments, and cuts nutrition and rent assistance for families who need it most. Read my full statement:
Today, I was proud to join students, scientists, civil servants, and fellow Members of Congress at the Stand Up for Science Rally to call out the blatant attacks from the Trump administration on our scientific institutions.
I will always support the mission of the scientific community.
I had the opportunity to visit Boss Straw in Woodstock last year, and I was impressed by their manufacturing operation and innovation in sustainability.
This is yet another example of how Trump's policies are hurting manufacturers and businesses across the U.S. — including right here in IL-11.
NEWS: @beyer.house.gov and I sent a letter demanding answers from the Trump Admin on the indiscriminate firing of 168 NSF employees.
This loss of expertise and institutional knowledge at NSF will cause the US to miss out on scientific breakthroughs and pave the way for China to fill in the gap.
I will continue fighting back against Trump's reckless attempts to pause funding for vital community services that support our most vulnerable.
I'm not surprised that the President failed to mention any plans to address homelessness & the housing affordability crisis during his speech last night — but that won't stop the inspiring work of people like Joe Jackson, the Executive Director of Hesed House, from being a leader on these issues.
Unsurprisingly, last night's address was disgraceful. Read my full statement.
I am deeply saddened by the news of Representative Sylvester Turner's passing last night. He was an exemplary public servant having served as Mayor of Houston and as a Member of Congress.
My thoughts are with his family, loved ones, and all of Houston.
Trump and Vance have stabbed Ukraine in the back and put a stain on our nation’s honor that will take generations to remove.
House Democrats and I stand with Ukraine and democracy. 🇺🇦
Reminder that Trump killed a bipartisan immigration package negotiated in good faith all so he could make it a campaign issue. #JointAddress
