I joined more than 160 of my colleagues in the House and Senate in a letter to make clear that federal workers are entitled to every cent of their paychecks once the Republican shutdown is over. ⬇️
About 1 in 8 women in the United States will get #BreastCancer at some point in her life. Among them, more than 40,000 will die from it. Getting a mammogram can improve your chances of surviving breast cancer. Find one at: fda.gov/findmammography
📰 New opinion piece from members of our Texas Democratic congressional delegation. www.houstonchronicle.com/opinion/outl...
Between cutting Medicaid and refusing to renew ACA credits, Republicans in Congress are creating a crisis that will affect all Americans.
In states like Texas, where Republican state lawmakers refused to expand Medicaid, we have some of the highest ACA enrollment.
In fact, #TX07 is number 21 on the list of districts with the most ACA enrollees (out of 435).
I am back in Washington this week, #TX07. This is the third week Speaker Johnson has told House Republicans not to bother to come to work, but House Democrats are here, ready to do the work to get the government open and to respond to the health care crisis we face.
Air traffic controllers are some of our most essential workers. They already lack sufficient support, and making them work without pay creates logistical and safety headaches. It's time for the GOP to get back to work and end the shutdown. #TrumpShutUSDown
Republicans are misinformed and are misinforming people, making claims about what the fight over health care is all about that are totally disconnected from reality. Get the facts here ➡️
Not only is President Trump using the government shutdown as an excuse to fire people, he is targeting departments and agencies based on whether he thinks it will be politically helpful for him—or harmful to others.
Team #TX07 was glad to help our neighbors at the Bellaire City Library Friday. We're always looking to set up more pop-ups. Have a suggestion for a location? Let us know!
#TX07 neighbors can always call my office or visit fletcher.house.gov/casework for help.
Republicans' failure to renew the ACA's enhanced premium tax credits would be devastating for Houstonians' access to health care. That is why House Republicans should return to D.C. and work with Democrats to reopen the government and protect Americans' health care.
The Trump administration is using the government shutdown to dismantle our public health infrastructure.
The people laid off from the CDC are our first line of response for disease outbreaks. This will cost lives.

A helpful read to understand the importance of the ACA's enhanced premium tax credits and how Texans' access to health care will be disproportionately impacted if Republicans in Congress let them expire ⬇️
www.wsj.com/health/healt...
If Republicans let ACA tax credits expire, Americans in every state, including Texas, will be paying more for their health care. It doesn’t have to be this way.
I urge my Republican colleagues to return to DC and work with us to make health care more affordable. #TrumpShutUSDown
The law the White House is considering breaking here is one President Trump himself signed into law after the 2019 shutdown.
Our federal employees have been facing a nonstop barrage of intimidation from the Trump administration and it must stop. #TrumpShutUSDown
2. This fragile but vital progress offers a moment of relief and a path forward. Much work remains to secure lasting peace and stability in the region, and we must continue to engage and support those goals.
1. I welcome the Israel–Hamas agreement as an important step toward freeing hostages, saving lives, and delivering desperately needed aid to civilians in Gaza.
New: As many as 267,000 veterans who don't qualify for VA coverage and aren't old enough for Medicare yet are set to lose health care coverage without the ACA credits that Republicans refuse to renew. #TrumpShutUSDown
Team #TX07 visited neighborhoods across our community to celebrate Houston's National Night Out—an opportunity for all of us to get to know our neighbors and those who work to keep our communities safe.
