Birthright citizenship has been a precedent established by our own Supreme Court for over 100 years.
No President can decide who is American. The Supreme Court must reject this attack on a fundamental promise of the American Dream.

It was great meeting with local leaders from Holly Springs, including Mayor Mike Kondratick, Town Councilmembers, and the Town Manager.
It has been a pleasure to work alongside you all to support the people of Holly Springs, and I’ll continue the fight to bring federal funding to the area.
📢 FYI: If you are participating in the Congressional Art Competition, don't forget to drop off your submissions at my Durham District office!
Drop off hours are from 9AM to 7PM this Monday and Tuesday at 2605 Meridian Pkwy, Suite 110, Durham, NC.
The Republican response to TSA workers missing paychecks, and ICE putting citizens at risk, is giving ICE more money without a long-term funding plan for TSA.
That's why I voted against the GOP's Continuing Resolution.
Read my full statement.
I refuse to vote in favor of giving ICE more money and will be voting against the Republican’s Continuing Resolution.
This Resolution is a band-aid that puts ICE funding above a long-term solution for TSA workers.
The Senate passed a package that omits ICE funding. We should be voting on that.
Your move Speaker Johnson. Let's fund TSA.
But let’s be very clear, this confirms what @housedemocrats.bsky.social have been saying throughout this partial shutdown. Republicans could have come to the table earlier to fund TSA, without ICE, but refused to.
The political games need to end. Let's get it done.
This is great news. The House must bring this bill to the floor for a vote immediately.
The safety of communities has been put at risk while TSA workers are being used as pawns in the GOP's scheme to increase ICE funding.

The Bull City Battalion has operated in Durham for decades without a hitch. This Administration's decision to reduce certain Army budgets should not mean that @nccueagle.bsky.social students lose access to ROTC resources.

The reclassification of the Bull City Battalion will have a major impact on its accessibility for NCCU students.
It is critical that the Army takes steps to assess potential impacts on cadets, and the 4th District, before moving forward with implementation.
Today, I sent another letter to the Army asking them to expand on these points.
The Army’s follow-up to my November letter regarding the reclassification of the Bull City ROTC Battalion fails to address potential costs or any steps taken to safeguard program quality and assess the training impacts of these proposed changes.
Attorney General Bondi has made a mockery of the rule of law. I’m proud to support @repsummerlee.bsky.social’s articles of impeachment against her.
Bondi’s priority is protecting members of the Epstein class, including the convicted felon in the White House. She needs to be removed immediately.
This week, I joined my @dstinc1913.bsky.social sorors for the 37th Delta Days here at the Capitol! Delta Women are leading the fight for social justice, and we will continue to advance Delta Sigma Theta’s legacy of sisterhood, scholarship, and service.
The GOP’s so-called “SAVE America” Act is an attack on voting rights—there’s no way around it.
Rather than actually delivering for communities, Republicans continue to try to rig elections and push their agendas that harm working families.
These symptoms can be debilitating. Congress must step up and properly support research into long COVID.
I introduced a resolution to recognize March as Long COVID Awareness Month to raise awareness about the millions of people living with persisting symptoms after a COVID-19 infection.

My office has received reports of 11 people being detained at military installations in NC, many of whom had inadvertently entered these military-controlled areas.
Hegseth needs to answer about his department’s coordination with ICE and policies that govern the detention of civilian drivers.
"There is no reason why (...) the funding of two specific law enforcement agencies should jeopardize the salaries of federal workers who have nothing to do with the lives lost due to ICE."

Republicans need to stop playing political games. Democrats are ready to fund TSA without funding for ICE.
TSA workers should not have to go without pay and their salaries shouldn’t be dependent on Trump’s inhumane immigration enforcement.
