Today, Congress reopened DHS after a 70+ day shutdown impacting FEMA, TSA, and more.
In the end, House Republicans backed down without results. Public safety shouldn’t be a political game and families should not be forced to pay the price for dysfunction in Washington. Enough is enough.
Appreciated the opportunity to join the CBA Hill Talk Series for a conversation on leadership, career growth, and public service.
Grateful for the chance to share my insights and learn from the next generation of leaders on the Hill.
Congressman Ivey’s full statement on the Supreme Court ruling on Voting Rights Act in Louisiana v. Callais.
It is up to Congress, the courts, and the American people to demand accountability and defend the independence of our justice system before it is further eroded.
What we are witnessing under acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is the continued and extreme weaponization of federal law enforcement for political ends. The American people deserve a DoJ guided by evidence, fairness, and the rule of law, not one used as a tool of personal vengeance.
The Department of Justice is not the president’s personal law firm nor is it a political hit squad. It is supposed to follow facts, respect the Constitution, and apply the law evenly, no matter whose name is involved or whose enemies list is being served.
One day it’s a civil rights organization. The next day it’s a longtime target of Donald Trump’s anger. The common thread is not public safety. The common thread is power.
This administration is not interested in restoring trust in the justice system. It’s interested in using the power of the justice system to punish critics, settle scores, and send a message to anyone who stands in its way.
The department has also secured a new indictment against former FBI Director James Comey over a social media post after their earlier prosecution against him fell apart.
In just the last several days, this Justice Department has brought an indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center for their work monitoring extremist groups, even as the organization says law enforcement had long known about and received information from its informant program.
When Pam Bondi was fired, I warned the country not to mistake Todd Blanche for a course correction, but to be prepared for this to go from bad to worse. He is no better than the person he replaced. What we are seeing now is not reform at the DoJ, it is an escalation of the retribution campaign.
The USDA is trying to move forward with shutting down BARC, and it should raise serious concerns.
We’re not going to sit back while this happens. We’re going to fight them tooth and nail on this and make sure that the law is upheld.
The 2027 Service Academy nomination application is now open.
Apply now at Ivey.house.gov by the deadline October 15, 2026. I look forward to seeing the next group of leaders who step forward.
$166B taken, and no clear plan to give it back.
Small biz and consumers shouldn’t be left behind while Sec. Lutnick’s family and big corporations get relief first.
If people paid the cost, they deserve a real refund, and we’re going to hold the administration to that.
The Maryland Delegation will fight to make sure that USDA follows the law and keeps BARC operational as we intended. Stay tuned.
Shutting it down or moving its work elsewhere doesn't just hurt our region, it undermines the critical role BARC plays in supporting farmers, strengthening our economy, and advancing innovation. Most importantly, USDA's plan is illegal.
The Beltsville Agricultural Research Center has been a cornerstone of Prince George's County and our nation's agricultural research for over a century.
Maryland continues to lead the way in what comes next for space exploration.
With the Roman Space Telescope assembled at Goddard, our state is helping drive discoveries that will shape how we understand the universe for generations.

IVEY: Is there anything the Trump administration is doing to help refund the tariffs?
LUTNICK: I'm not involved in that process. I wouldn't know one way or the other
IVEY: Oh, come on, Mr Secretary. You don't know if there's a process in place?
