I will always be grateful that I learned how to lead in Congress with fortitude, poise, and grit from Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi. She is the most accomplished Speaker of our generation and many young girls including me knew that we could be a leader because of her.
I joined the San Diego Food Bank for an emergency food distribution for federal workers, military families, and everyone needing some extra help right now. It shouldn’t take a court order to force the Trump Administration to do the right thing and even partially fund SNAP.

Undocumented immigrants are not and have never been eligible for federal SNAP benefits. So when Republicans cut $186 billion from SNAP and when they slow-roll funding for SNAP, they’re hurting American citizens only.
Republicans in Congress are so hell-bent on taking away Americans’ health care that they don’t care about costing the economy $14 billion to do it. But yeah….sure…they’re “fiscally conservative.”
The numbers don’t lie.
San Diegans (and people across the country) will pay thousands of dollars more per year for health insurance unless Republicans join Democrats in Congress to extend the ACA premium tax credits.

Don’t take it from me, listen to Snopes! Speaker Johnson signed a bill to cut $186 billion from SNAP. And again, it’s HIS party that won’t help millions of Americans put food on the table this month.
The truth is that health insurance costs are about to DOUBLE for millions of Americans. That’s a HUGE issue.
It doesn’t have to be this way. Democrats have a plan to keep these costs down. Republicans need to get on board.

Millions of people are about to realize (if they haven't already) that their premiums are going to cost WAY more in 2026 because Republicans are refusing to renew critical tax credits.
This is a crisis.
Republicans would rather stop SNAP than pass a bill that allows millions of people to afford health care and reopens the government.
Democrats are fighting for your health, your food, your dignity, and your rights. Republicans want to take it all away.
We deserve better.

To be clear, Democrats in Congress want to:
- Lower health care costs
- Pay our service members
- Fund SNAP, WIC, and Head Start
- End the shutdown
But Republicans think that’s ridiculous and are refusing to negotiate. Does that list seem ridiculous to you?
The lawyers and intelligence professionals didn't even show up to the House Armed Services Committee briefing today on the U.S strikes on Venezuela. I didn't hear anything to prove otherwise – these strikes are illegal. They are murder. And they should stop immediately.
