Trump and Republicans are seriously screwing up the economy. Jobs numbers badly missed expectations and DECLINED BY 33,000 private sector jobs last month. And now their big, ugly bill will make things worse by throwing 17 million people off healthcare and increasing US debt by $4.5 trillion.
JOBS PLUMMET: The U.S. private sector lost 33,000 jobs in June, badly missing expectations for a 100,000 increase, payrolls processing firm ADP says.
In Long Island to support the amazing Rep Laura Gillen! Did you know Laura worked for St. Mother Teresa in Kolkata? Laura has led a life of service and now she needs your help. She is a Frontline Member in a competitive district. You can help Laura here: lauragillen.com
The harmful economic policies of Trump and Republicans have INCREASED CORE INFLATION BEYOND EXPECTATIONS. And their big ugly bill will further harm the American people by cutting 16 million people off health care and dramatically increasing the federal debt and deficit.
🚨🚨Trump’s economy gets disastrous update – Core inflation SPIKES to 2.7% in May, worse than expected – Income FALLS 0.4% – GDP SHRINKS 0.5% in Q1 - Consumer spending DROPS 0.1%
We are entering the era of artificial intelligence agents, where AI agents do things for—or against—you. Below is my op-ed in the Los Angeles Times. I wrote the op-ed, but my AI agent figured out how to submit the op-ed, and then took the steps to submit the piece. www.latimes.com/opinion/stor...
Under Donald Trump, America is in decline. GDP growth was much lower than expected, becoming negative. It takes a special kind of stupid to take quarter after quarter of positive American GDP growth and turn it negative. Also, inflation increased. #ThursdayThoughts
The private sector, local and state officials DO NOT WORK FOR ICE. Pleased the Dodgers understand that fact. I urge all people who don’t work for ICE to understand they do not need to grant any requests from ICE (unless ICE has a warrant). We will stand up to ICE overreaching.

The Trump Administration is using our troops as political pawns, trampling on legal precedent, and perpetuating fear and hate. @reptedlieu.bsky.social and I are demanding answers from the Pentagon about why Marines detained a civilian in L.A. last week. www.notus.org/immigration/...

As Members of Congress, we take an oath to defend the Constitution — the same oath that me, @reptedlieu.bsky.social, and every other service member has taken. We led 34+ House Democrats to demand accountability for the civilian detained by Marines in L.A. last week.
Trump’s disastrous policies have activated the American people. Trump cannot overcome the will of the people. Righteously: -exercise your right to freedom of assembly -exercise your freedom of speech This is how we save our country. And we’re going to flip the House.
Just talked to a trusted inside source—Trump’s inner circle is rattled by the No Kings protests nationwide. They didn’t mention Trump directly, but it’s clear they know just how toxic his brand has become. #NoKings

Absolutely horrified by the politically motivated attack on two Minnesota state lawmakers. Praying for the Hortman and Hoffman families. Political violence has no place in our society and those who commit it must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
The world is on fire. We cannot have an unqualified person playing Secretary of Defense. Hegseth has repeatedly made grave errors. He must resign. Also, Hegseth’s taxpayer funded Pentagon makeup studio / glam countertop can only go so far in covering up his incompetence.
“Pete is playing secretary,” one source said. “He’s not being secretary.” Read Kerry Howley’s exclusive look at the most damaging scandal to emerge from Hegseth’s Department of Defense to date: not poor operational security, but a protracted public attempt to destroy his own top advisors.
Completely despicable actions by DHS, having Sen Alex Padilla being forcibly taken down. Why is @SecNoem afraid of answering questions? Even more Americans will now righteously exercise the right to protest. More will righteously monitor ICE. WE. WILL. NOT. BE. INTIMIDATED.
Padilla: “We will hold this administration accountable”

Peacefully protesting is a right. It’s completely un-American and needlessly provocative for Trump to deploy the National Guard and Marines against Americans. These are unlawful orders.
Reposted byTed Lieu
Hegseth deployed troops to Southern California without funding for food, water, fuel, or equipment. Marines are trained for military combat – not law enforcement. Trump must rescind his orders, Hegseth must resign, & law enforcement should be handled by state/local authorities.
