Always great to stop by the new small businesses at UNLV’s Black Fire Innovation! It’s important to support their initiatives that keep us at the center of business & technology innovation.
Skye Summit is the exact type of housing development that will benefit from the AACE Act, my bipartisan bill to cut red tape to build more homes and lower housing costs. So it made for a great place to celebrate that bill being signed into law with Senator Cortez Masto & local housing advocates 👇
Congratulations to the Southern Nevada Health District on the expansion of their Public Health Laboratory! The research done here is an essential public health tool for fighting infectious diseases, keeping harmful substances out of our water and food, and so much more.
Yeah, I’m pissed off. Of course we can find ways to make government more efficient. But Nevada already has a shortage of health care providers and our local veterans deserve care. I won’t be stand by as these workers get laid off while big corporations get tax breaks.
House Republicans’ new budget proposal would cut Medicaid for nearly 40% of Nevada children to pay for tax breaks for billionaires. It’s trading kids’ healthcare for big corporate tax breaks.
No better time than a three day weekend to appreciate Nevada’s beautiful parks. Thank you to all of America’s presidents who worked to create and protect our public lands. Happy Presidents’ Day!
The President’s illegal Executive Orders have real consequences—with some of the harshest for our local public servants. I joined AFGE Local 1224 at our VA Medical Center to stand up for our federal healthcare workers, their livelihoods, and the vets they serve. #UnionStrong
It’s Valentine’s Day, which means another year of one of my favorite traditions: Valentines for Vets. I stopped by a local VA Medical Center to deliver this year’s Valentine’s Day cards, chat with some of our veterans, and thank them for their service.
I made a commitment to lower the cost of housing in southern Nevada, and passing my bipartisan AACE Act is one step toward building more homes and lowering costs. Thank you to Senator Cortez Masto and local housing advocates for joining me to celebrate this major achievement.
Las Vegas’s economy runs on our tipped workers. None of them should lose out on the tips they earn. I’m supporting legislation with Rep. Horsford to finally eliminate the subminimum wage and taxes on tips to put more money in working Nevadans’ pockets. #OneFairWage should be enough.
DOGE wants to eliminate the CFPB, which has returned Americans more than $20 billion by holding abusive corporations and predatory lenders accountable. Funny that that’s just as much money as Musk has in government contracts via SpaceX & Tesla. Whose money is he really protecting?
Lol. Donald Trump signs multiple Executive Orders to freeze federal funding and is actively fighting court orders trying to stop him. But yeah, we really have no idea what’s going on here.
Great meeting with our AFGE Local 1978 (our hands-on engineers at Hoover Dam) and Local 1250 (the TSA agents who keep our skies safe & tourism running). There’s never been a more important time to highlight the work our local civil servants do—I’m fighting for them in Congress.
Remember surprise overdraft fees? Or expensive credit card late fees? These were just a few ways big banks & credit card companies made billions off hardworking Americans. But thanks to the CFPB, fees like these were capped or eliminated. And Elon Musk’s DOGE just shut down the CFPB.
Good. Elon Musk is a billionaire with massive government contracts and business ties to the Chinese government. His DOGE should not be able to read millions of Americans’ social security numbers, bank account numbers, and tax information. thehill.com/regulation/c...
