The trend of ICE agents working on our streets without showing their badges or affiliation creates fear in our communities & puts both the public and agents themselves at risk.
Our courts serve as a check on executive power. This precedent threatens the integrity of our system of checks & balances. (2/2)
I'm deeply concerned that the Supreme Court's ruling weakens lower courts’ ability to protect Americans from illegal actions taken by any administration, Republican or Democrat. (1/2)
What happens when a vaccine skeptic is in charge of global health?
He tries to defund a global vaccine program that has saved ~19 million lives & vaccinated over 1.1 billion children.
The Administration must reverse course and fund this bipartisan program.
Her dedication to public service and her courageous advocacy for gun violence prevention have made a lasting impact. It was an honor to serve alongside her in Congress.
My thoughts are with Congresswoman McCarthy's family & loved ones during this difficult time.
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy. After losing her husband and nearly her son in a shooting on the LIRR, she turned her heartache into action, serving nine terms representing New York’s 4th Congressional District.
It’s hard enough for working families to make ends meet & afford basic needs. Now, tariffs are making it even more difficult for parents to buy toys for their kids.
The Administration is taxing babies while giving billionaires a tax cut.
10 years ago, the Supreme Court's ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges legalized same-sex marriage throughout the country.
On #EqualityDay I’m proud to celebrate that marriage equality remains the law of the land, but our work to defend & expand the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans is far from over.
The extreme heat in Queens-NYC continues.☀️
Stay hydrated, avoid being outdoors, & stay up to date on local guidance during this heat wave. Text "Queens" at 333111 to get weather updates or learn more here: dhses.ny.gov/extreme-heat
I am deeply concerned about the Administration's lack of respect for the rule of law.
The DOJ's 2026 budget weakens our country's efforts to fight crime & keep Americans safe.
My remarks to Attorney General Pam Bondi👇
New York will always be a safe haven for reproductive care, but I won’t stop fighting until reproductive freedom is the law of the land for every American once again.
Three years ago today, the Supreme Court overturned the constitutional right to an abortion, stripping millions of people of bodily autonomy & reproductive freedom. Now, abortion bans across the country are putting lives at risk.
The DOJ recklessly canceled the three largest programs fighting hate crimes, including the program I helped establish in 2022.
Attorney General Pam Bondi said she would work with me to bring these programs back. I am going to hold her to that promise.
It's Primary Day, New York! Polls are open until 9PM today🗳️

I am devastated to learn about the deadly terrorist attack during a peaceful Greek Orthodox service in Syria. No one should fear for their life in any house of worship, regardless of their faith.
My thoughts are with victims, their families, & the Greek Orthodox community.
The President promised to lower costs for families on day one. But months later, rising tariffs are fueling uncertainty and higher prices, leaving consumers with less to spend.
Businesses are the backbone of our economy. They are feeling the brunt of these tariffs more than anyone else.
My statement on the U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities⬇️
Cuts to Medicaid would be devastating for New York State. Millions of people would lose coverage & hospitals would close.
I visited St. Mary's Hospital for Children where so many kids undergoing treatment rely on Medicaid. We cannot leave them without the coverage their families are relying on.
On #Juneteenth, we celebrate the emancipation of the last enslaved people in the United States. While we honor the resilience of the African American community, we must acknowledge that we have a long way to go and much more work to do in the fight for equality and justice.
The GOP budget rips away health care from millions of Americans and takes SNAP benefits from hungry families all to pay for tax cuts that only benefit the wealthy. Americans aren't happy about it.
Why are my colleagues across the aisle still putting billionaires before hardworking families?
