I voted yes to end this reckless war, bring our servicemembers home, end this senseless bloodshed, protect our national security interests, defend the Constitution and put a check on this Administration.
This long-overdue vote comes at a time when the Trump Administration has continually hurt our leadership on the global stage, created instability abroad and driven up costs for the American people.
Only Congress has the power to declare war, yet we’ve found ourselves entangled in a protracted military conflict in Iran with no evidence of an imminent threat and no clear long-term strategy — all because Congressional Republicans continued to enable this President and his disastrous agenda.
Today marks 95 days since Trump first dragged us into this reckless war of choice in Iran. 95 days since Americans have paid the price at the gas pump.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor those who gave the last full measure of devotion to our nation.
The House was back in session for another busy week before the Memorial Day recess.
Here’s what you may have missed.
For millions of Americans, especially younger generations, the dream of owning a home has grown further out of reach.
I voted YES on the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act to make affordable housing more of a reality and prevent young families from being priced out of their communities.
Earlier this year, I advocated for an FAA grant supporting a Consolidated Passenger Screening Checkpoint at Richmond International Airport to help reduce long lines and improve passenger traffic flow through security screening.
This week, RIC received $5.8 million for the project.
Our country remains plagued by rising costs as U.S. servicemembers risk their lives. Now, Mike Johnson canceled the vote on a War Powers Resolution to bring our troops home because he didn’t have the votes to defeat it.
I have stood against this war, and I will continue to do so until it is over.
